My sky's eve .....

It starts out with some simple softly puffed clouds .. you can see there is more colour to it than it wants to show though.
You look in another direction, and the hint of orange pink is on the horizon.
Above that is a single pale pearl hanging there .. like a single thought caught in mid air.
Half said ... half left unsaid.
It glows .. so softly . It can be maddening .. you want to capture "details" but it is so far away and your lens can only do so much ..

Then I just give in .. and appreciate the horizon again. The layering of pink, purple, blue .. even in the fuzzy distance it is beautiful .The Staghorn Sumac fruit create a sharp contrast for the soft yielding sky.

Lovely! We had some similar cloud formations today. Just when I was in the middle of taking some neat pictures of the light streaming through the clouds and onto the hills my camera battery died. ARGH!!!

I find that when I have a camera in hand, I am too busy trying to catch a good shot to actually enjoy what I'm seeing. So I have to detach myself from the thing every so often!

Enjoyed your photos and text... the subtleties of color and silhouetted sumac, as well as that moon! /Deb

I don't think it was the camera that made the difference in our sky photos today. I saw the same swirly clouds but the sky had a orange glow where they opened up on the horizon. Oh yea, besides that I'm better...

...equipped with my camera

Dear Mr. WiseA** .. I have better luck with sunrises .. they are in the right direction for me to catch that beautiful rosy glow .. you can see that if you look through my shots .. hum .. watch that better equipped "quip" sir ! : )

Thanks Deb .. the well is really running dry here for posts .. : ( LOL

Brenda .. I find that happens too .. I miss a beautiful sky because I stress out over a shot .. I have to learn to do what you do as well.

Amy .. that has happened to me as well and it drives me crazy .. I guess we never notice the battery indicator because we are so intent on the picture ? .. drives me NUTS ! LOL

Hello Jan .. thank you ! and thanks for stopping by !

These are lovely, Joy! We've been having spectacular skies down here, too, with Venus and Jupiter glowing brilliantly beside the new moon. Wow! But not all of us have the photographic skills to immortalize them...
