-25 Celsius Here This Morning

I don't usually do a post first thing in the morning. I'm too apt to sound nonsensical ? flat ? humourless ? ... that is so not me. I like to poke fun at everything .
However this morning is one FRIGID way to start the day .. I am only too glad not to have to go out in it.

-25 by our thermometer .. with no windchill factored in ... that number will go up 5 to 10 more degrees if we have wind, which thankfully we don't have much of for the moment.
The fireplace is pumping out lots of heat as are the baseboard heaters .. even Sophie & Emma won't stand near the open deck door.
Pictures to follow later today ................. for now .............. BBBBBRRRRRRRRR !!

-25??? I'll stop complaining now.

I woke up to new-fallen snow and WIND. The temperatures are supposed to drop below zero over the next few days. The TV weatherman said "cold air is pushing down from Canada." Thanks a lot, Joy:)
Stay warm!

My goodness that is COLD! The coldest that I've ever been was a -75 wind chill in Helsinki, Finland.

I see why it's best to have indoor cats than having to take dogs outside a few times a day! ouch!

That cold is headed our way, Joy -- you might have kept it in Ontario, you know. ;-) (I posted a sunrise sky for you yesterday.)

Ooohhhh I'm getting goosebumps as I write this, Joy! Oh you must stay inside and wrap up in a cozy quilt or blanket, sit by a warm fire (if you have a fireplace) and curl up with a good book ( or a good laptop???) or just take a nice nap;)
Sorry you can't be out digging or planting!

Let's hope for a good break in the weather. Maybe, just maybe it will warm up a little. Or at least maybe the sun will come out. I am wishing this for you. Good Luck.

keep warm. I saw on the news last night that our cold blast has made it's way to your neck of the woods. I hope it doesn't last long.

Wow! Joy that's cold, baby! Snuggle up and stay warm! I too don't like to post first thing in the morning- there are exceptions, but I am generally more creative at night!

It's really cold here too. My thermometer read about -20 F. I had to take the kids to the bus though so I actually braved the cold for a few minutes. Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. EEEK. I'm glad we got heat installed in the basement for the kids now.

Oh Joy - I cannot even begin to imagine temperatures like that. I would definitely just go to sleep and wake up when it is warmer!

Hi Rose .. hey ! you are very welcome girl !! LOL .. We Canadians like to share .. or is that "misery loves company?" haha

Cherry .. I would mail you some snow but we both know what would happen : (
Thanks .. I'm in my polar fleece pajamas : )

Gail .. I'm afraid I am having too much of a good thing with the weather sticking around in these degrees .. now where did I put that treadmill again ?? LOL

Cameron .. those poor dogs .. I don't know how they do their business in this weather .. let alone the walking bit. Hey ! hubby was in Finland years ago .. and in those temps too I think ! LOL

Nancy .. I have to get over there and see that sunrise .. and jeez .. sorry about the cold we are sending .. I tried not to but it went that way .. oops ! LOL

Jan .. if I didn't have actual pictures of my garden I would wonder if it was all in my imagination ! haha .. yup cozy day all round in here : )

Darlene .. I can't imagine a winter without these temps .. now how is that for irony ? LOL
I must remember more Chapstick !!

Hi Randy .. Not a chance of me going out for a few days .. I'll build imaginary ones though ?

Jen .. the sun has been out but it really doesn't change the temps when they are this low .. a few more days to get through this : (

Hi Diane .. yup ! It officially came through last night .. the hostels are trying to get as many street people off the street as possible .. that is scary for them especially.

Tess ... I'm still going EEEEUUUUWWW ! over what you said girl ! hahaha

Cinj .. it freezes the skin so fast .. and you can not even feel it until it is too late .. I hate this extreme cold crap !

Karen .. if it were at all possible, that would be the plan for me !! sleep til Spring : )

Rose .. I think you are going to get more snow down there from what the weather guy said .. hope you have help with that again girl !

I share your pain! We are dealing with the same type of cold. Brrrrrr.... Makes me want to hibernate and wake up in March! I wish...

Brenda Pruitt said...

Doesn't sound like someplace I could ever live! My arthritis is killing me and it rarely even freezes here. But now it's COLD!

Hi Martha .. me too girl ! .. it is hard for me to even think Spring will eventually get here .. then summer jumps right in and I complain about the heat .. go figure ! haha

Hi Brenda .. we don't have much of a choice in our weather .. but at least I can hibernate a little to make the time pass faster ! : )

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! We Brits are wimps in comparison Joy!

I'll stop moaning about mere -10 now...

Weeping Sore said...

Gadzooks! Your temps are enough to make me put on a sweater just to read your post. Hope you have a lot of seed catalogs to browse by the fire and dream of Spring.

Weeping Sore said...

Your cold weather is daunting. These are the times that try gardener's souls. Hope you don't succumb to cabin fever, snuggled inside next to a warm fire.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

VP .. yes you guys are "cold" shy .. but .. you do put up with a lot of RAIN .. so you have your special moments too ? LOL

Hi WS ! .. yes .. garden catalogs and planning are so helpful during these frigid days .. and having a fireplace is a bonus .. two cats helps .. flannel pjs .. well I'm stocked up on keeping warm .. but cabin fever always lurks near by ! LOL

Phillip Oliver said...

Yikes, I feel terrible about complaining about 25 degrees above 0!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Phillip .. hey, don't feel guilty .. it is all relative to where we live and what we are used to ? .. but then again .. shame on you for complaining ?? LOL

-25*C ??? My tropical blood freezes over at +20*C !
Stay warm and cuddle the kitties . And lots of chocolate! (What a great excuse)

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Sunita ! Hello there : )
I can't imagine being able to survive in your hot humid weather girl ! .. I guess it would feel like total hot flash menopause weather with no relief ? LOL .. we can both have some chocolate to discuss this with ? : )
