Naked Trees and Blue Blue Sky

This is what I like to call a some what "zen" posting .. I'm not going to go on and on about each tree and what is looks like to me .. trees shouldn't have to be explained .. they stand on their own merit and beauty .. whether they are freshly garbed in new leaves, dressed up in Autumn colours (which of course is my favorite) or naked as they are here.

Their shapes are amazing .. this is a windy hill where Fort Henry is. Thus they are sculptured some what, by these winds, which makes them all the more interesting to me. Sort of Halloweeny ? I just had to get that bit in ...

So there we are .. naked trees and blue blue sky : )

Hi Joy,
This is so beautiful...yes, zen-like. Heavenly, really, and just so peaceful. Wow, are you relaxed now?

Everything looks so lovely displayed against the blue background of your blog!

Well of course you had to sneak in Halloween somehow, and you picked just the place for it - at the END of the post, where we'll remember it MOST:)

PS I really love the 2nd photo with the 2 trees & the large rock; AND the 4th one with the trees all lined up.

There is Perspective here--and really neat angles, etc.

Have you been taking a Secret Photography Class???? Can I have a few lessons??!!

I feel like I need to put a coat on to view the pictures...brrr its cold there. We had sun here today but it was windy and cool. But Hot compared to 6c there. I don't know how you survive I get cold just thinking of it. Tomorrow it is suppose to rain so I got busy and cleaned out the chicken house/pen and got the girls all ready for that. They need straw but I guess I will have to wait till Monday for that. I hope you have a great evening and are staying nice and warm(-:

Isn't that contrast -- that "starkness" -- wonderful? And look at all those winter blues. :) (I'm doing BLUE for What Colour Is Winter? Part 4 tomorrow -- yours are beautiful, Joy.)

Hi Jan .. You are too sweet girl ! Thank you ! .. There are just some strokes of perfection you can spot every once in a while .. these trees did it for me .. the only oops is the little one with the power lines .. I didn't want the lines in the picture but couldn't get away from them .. ah yes, HALLOWEEN ! hehehehe

Hi Brenda .. it did strike me exactly like that .. heaven knows when we start with the messy weather there will be nothing pristine looking at all ! haha

Hi Cindee .. the temps when I was shooting this was actually -21 with wind chill, now I will admit to being COLD that day ! haha
Chickens : ) .. you are going to laugh at this .. but I'm afraid of them .. that pecking thing ? haha You sound like a very good mom to them girl !

Nancy girl ! Thanks ! .. I'll be over to check yours out too .. blue skies keep us going in the winter doesn't it ? LOL

Hi Jared .. it actually has warmed up and rained .. but it is gray on gray now so a little too monotone for me ? Aren't I fussy ? haha

Hi Cameron ... Thank you girl !

Hello Tatyana .. Thank you ! One of my more quiet ? yet interesting posts I think ? : )

Hello Andre .. It was a very good day for naked trees and BLUE skies indeed !

A perfect combination - white, blue and a dark silhouette for interest. Bare trees are so good for that. Very soothing and peaceful!

Dear Joy, My favorite photos are trees against a blue sky! Of course they do look especially beautiful in autumns pretty gold, but outlined au natural is perfect, too! It is very cool the way the wind scupts the trees... Gail

Hi EG .. I find that too .. very simple forces at work to construct a straight forward composition .. zen like .. yet if you want detail all you have to do is look further into the tree's branches and twigs ! LOL

Hi Gail .. it amazes me how the wind does such an awesome job bending, curving, swaying the trees their way .. almost on a whim ? haha .. It always grabs my attention !

Beautiful trees!

Beautiful photos. I saw this same sight in December when I went to Denver--snow on the ground, extremely blue skies and tree skeletons. I took a lot of photos similar to yours because, of course, I don't see such a combination very often!

I suppose this is what they mean by the 'bare bones of beauty' ! Very stark but it kind of pulls you.
One of the first (wierd)thoughts I had was that if a Hindi-film maker saw this he would rush there with his filming crew ! We're big on song and dance sequences in our films. And the romancing is shown via a romantic song and what we call "dancing around the trees"!
Yeah, this would fit!

Hello Rosengeranium ! Hey, thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice comment ! : )

Hello Aiyana .. Thank you !
We can go a long time with gray skies .. so I really wanted to grab this chance of the intense blue sky with these trees .. they really grabbed me that day : )

Hi Karen ... Thanks girl ! .. I really liked your pictures from Sunday .. I shivered a bit looking at them .. and that sheep thing .. well I thought it was too funny ! LOL

Hello there Sunita ! .. I am a secret Bollywood fan .. I do get a kick out of the song and dance in those films .. and some of the guys are very cute looking too ! wink wink : )
They can come and film around my trees any time girl : )

That is some blue sky! When the wind is not howling and the roads are plowed free of snow, winter is quite beautiful, isn't it? We had surprisingly warm temps this weekend, and all the snow has melted. But of course more is in the forecast for later this week:)

Thanks for your comment on my last post; yes, Toby was snickering that Coconut couldn't even write his own post:)

Just beautiful Joy! Blue skies means no snow clouds! :-)--Randy

Rose we are in the same boat here .. beautiful today .. snow melting but it starts up all over again with freezing rain tonight .. this is a Spring TEASE !
There is nothing more humorous than a cat snicker towards a dog .. it just is sublime ! LOL

Hi Randy .. that is true for the time they are blue .. but trouble is coming .. BIG trouble .. I'll try to hold on to my sanity (it might just come down to doughnuts to keep it there .. no fudge around !!) haha

Stark beauty! Gorgeous blue skies! I am at peace, now, with the remainder of winter... thanks! /Deb

Absolutely beautiful! I love the bare branches against that blue sky..and oh the snow! You know..I have never seen a really big snow.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Deb .. girl I am still struggling with the remainder of winter .. it just goes on and on .. except for days like these , maybe ? LOL

MT .. there is something to blue skies and bare branches isn't there ? .. almost like the trees are reaching to touch the sky ..the snow can GO any time now girl !! : )

They do speak for themselves, very beautiful and zenlike for sure.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi Tina .. yes they do, so a no brainer post for a no brain day ! haha

Absolutely marvelous shots, Joy. People should have cameras glued to their pockets at all times, so when such breathtaking vistas emerge in front of us, especially the contrasty clear blue sky and proudly naked trees, we're one click away from memorizing that moment in eternity. Well done! Respect!
