The Tulip Sisters

Well it has been another madcap garden day for me and I ache every where and totally YEARN for a rain day so I can crash and resurface my garden souls ? A little play on words there .. I know ... VERY little but I truly am ready to drop !
I think we "northern" gardeners tend to do that to ourselves .. we wait and scheme all winter with such industry about our garden plans and missions. It can totally occupy our thoughts and dreams . So when it actually comes time that we can literally get to work in our gardens .. well we have been doing that in our heads so long that now the physical side can do us in quickly because that is all we have thought about ALL winter long !!!
OK .. enough of my meandering here .. I just loved how my bulb circle has worked out and these gorgeous tulips have been such a treat .. I wanted to share them with you all again : )Posted by Picasa

Stunning Joy!! They really are getting better with age! Most tulips look best 1/2 closed, but these are an exception. I agree with us Northerners overdoing it, but what choice do we have??

Joy, I totally understand. I've been in the garden for the past few days too. It's perfect how you described what happens to us gardeners up here in the north. And also, we have a build up of energy (not to mention frustration and cabin fever from the winter), so when we're finally able to get out there, we don't know how to stop! It's just too much fun.

Love your tulips! They are gooooorrrrgeous!

I got your email and just haven't had a chance to write back yet. But yes, I got Jack Frost! In fact, I got two of them for the front of the house! I was at Home Depot at 9:00 AM; left the house as soon as my daughter's school bus left...LOL... I HAD to get this plant! It's just too beautiful.

Hey, try and get some rest; you don't want to collapse this early in the gardening season!

I know what you mean Joy, there is not entering slowly into garden season. In Europe, spring is much slower, and you are able to get outside, with the temps changing just a couple of degrees. Here it is 5 one day and then goes into 15 -20 and never looks back.

Hello Rebecca girl : )
I haven't had many tulips here , fear of squirrel invasion thing ?
But these have been so gorgeous watching them for so long .. I am totally impressed by them !
YES ..... I am in OUCH mode today for sure ;-(

Martha girl I am so glad you got Jack and that you have once for the back and front !!! You are going to love him : ) I have some specialty ones coming from the mail order side and I am so excited about them : )
They are a simple tulip cultivar I picked up some where but I absolutely love them (I have the name if you ever want to know !)
Don't worry about e-mail Martha .. I'm surprised I could even get one to you but I had to know about your Jack status ? LOL

Deborah all I can say is YES ! The Spring in Holland was gorgeous and we loved it but this thing with Ontario is so THAT ! one day Spring the next mid summer .. I am afraid it is going to be one of those hot dry years eeeeeekkkkkkkkk !!!

I tried to post here twice before, hope the third time is the charm.

The tulip sisters are lovely, and would always be welcome at my home. I like the font you used on that photo, too.
