Shot of the day !

We had lots of rain last night which is a relief .. but it seems that we are still going to slide back to the heat and humidity ... and my neighbor on the other side of the fence has a HUGE infestation of aphids from HELL which of course will coming knocking at my door and I better have a battle plan ready besides shooting the little 'buggers' with the jet dial on the hose .. BIG sigh !
Mean while ... how about this shot people ?? !!! sometimes things go click in the best way ;-)
P.S. NellJean reminded me I should tell you what rose this is (thank you girl for reminding me !) .. it is my favorite Morden Sunrise !

Go over and visit with Rob, from Our French Garden. http://ourfrenchgarden.blogspot.com/2010/05/aphids.html

And then you can just look at all of those aphids, and call them nasty French names...like well Aphids.

But at least you will sound cultivated while doing it. Giggle.

Gorgeous shot Joy! Is it a Morden Sunrise rose? My new one is just setting a few buds. :)

It's very pretty. Does it have a name? You know how we are about names.

YES !!! Rebecca I meant to pop over and say come on over to see the new Morden Sunrise I have blooming in the raised bed here .. they will look wonderful all season for you too ! I can't wait to see some pictures from yours girl : )

Jen that made me laugh so much .. because we do have our Quebec neighbors that have a few astounding descriptive names ? LOL
And YES ;-) I think it sounds much better in another language besides English when we really get ticked off at these blank blank BUGS !!

NellJean : ) I meant to put Mordern Sunrise in the post .. in fact I will do that straight away !
you have to have one of these too : )

Linda .. I don't know how many times I have meant to drop an e-mail your way .. my mind is on vacation on another planet most of the time ? haha
But I will get to e-mail land eventually and YES ! .. the worst case scenario is that time of the season the garden starts to become "tired" .. from all sorts of pests and nasty fungus .. but I am so hoping some new plants will be smiling then too for you !
At least we are fairly sure the dryer will be working ?? hahahaha

Hiya Joy! My lord but I'm having a harder and harder time surfacing these days. It's insane over here! Anyhow, I danced the happy dance when I read that the rose in the photo is Morden Sunrise because I planted one in my garden! Yahoo! That's what I have to look forward to. And it's all thanks to you because you told me I should consider planting that. Anyhow, I am so grateful for the rain, although I wish we wouldn't have so much heat. It's no wonder these infestations are popping up. Not enough spring rain and cool weather brings about some nasty bugs in huge numbers! I'll get an email out to you as soon as I get a chance to share my news! Hope you're doing well.

Hello Martha girl !
I am guilty of the same thing and I still have your nepeta cataria here ! .. I am so grateful for the rain too .. tomorrow I have to work hard to get things back in line some how .. which will be a miracle because all the plants jumped forward so much .. and the aphid infestation my neighbor has and doesn't know it .... eeekkk !
Don't worry about e-mail girl .. I know you are busy ! : ) I'm so glad you are going to enjoy Morden Sunrise !

Lisa we so needed the rain .. but my Zephirine D. had a bad case of rust .. I cut it back to bare bones and I am trying to treat that horrible stuff .. she is my one climber by the deck and I was so hoping for it to be full and lush and beautiful .. fingers crossed I can get a handle on this STUFF !!

Hi Joy Dear, Nice rose. I bet it's fragrant, isn't it?

Good luck with your...I mean, your neighbor's aphids. They suck. Literally. :)

Beautiful! There is a wild rose growing at the edge of the woods behind my house, with the same coloration on the petals as that one, except that the rose is pink.
I like the yellow, and glad you gave the name.

A fine shot!!!

It was just one of those moments and this little creature almost seemed to want me to take its picture : )
I bet your rose is just gorgeous .. wild ones are so beautiful and usually smell fantastic .. wish I could smell it !

Joy, what a lovely photo of a sweet rose! We had one at our last house and it was so easy maintenance and didn't seem to pick up powdery mildew or any of those other nasties. I miss it and will have to get another.

Thanks for sharing yours! :)

Ms S ! That is totally right : ) this Morden Sunrise is one of the easiest roses I have had .. sadly my Zephirine Drouhin has had difficulties like that blasted rust .. I have cut her way back and we are starting from scratch .. if she isn't totally mad at me ? You have to get one girl !! Morden Sunrise I mean !LOL
