When 'Awesome" is truly AWESOME

This morning at about 5 AM (my usual time to get up in the summer .. just the way my brain works .. go figure ?) .. in any case .. this morning was, to coin a much over used word, totally AWESOME !
I can't express with words or even my pictures, what it was like to stand on the deck .. not a breath of breeze blowing .. some very quiet bird chirping and a world wrapped in pink cotton candy from one horizon to the other .. and I am not embellishing this description at all.
I only wish each and everyone of you that looks at this post, could have an experience like this as I did this morning.
It truly blows my mind how utterly stunning the sky and earth was .. and I have watched a lot of sunrises in my life .. nothing can compare, or sadly I think, will ever compare to what I was so fortunate to witness.
It changed moment to moment with light value and shades of pink and gold ...
The pink was layered back and forth with light and dark.
Patches of blue sky were trying to grab a foothold but the pink clouds kept getting in their way.
Swirls of pink clouds were drifting in and out. As if some one was smoking a cigar that puffed out pink upon pink .
At the opposite end of the sunrise was a sky that was layered with pink cotton candy stretched out to cover it .. some sections heavier than others .. as if it truly was a huge pink cotton ball, stretched over the entire sky.
Then the pink (do you think I have mentioned how PINK the pink was ?) started to fade so quickly it was amazing .. the gold tones left almost as quickly when they won their battle with the p**k .. and a dull gray sky took over.

My pictures can never do justice to what I saw .. it was a morning I will never forget .. and neither will poor husband .. because as he was trying to get up, I saw the pink reflection from the window and I bowled him over trying to get to the kitchen and my camera .. what can I say ? Never get between me and a beautiful sky, or a piece of fudge ????

P.S. It is a rain day and I am also very grateful for THAT .. plus tomorrow which is supposed to be another rain day ... phew !!

Kiki girl it was absolutely stunning .. not just the sky but the whole atmosphere .. I have never seen/felt anything like it .. I hope I get another chance though .. it was totally amazing : )

Lisa girl ! hahaha .. you know exactly how to pick a practical point out of this don't you ? poor guy almost got pushed into the wall with me trying to grab the camera and get out on the deck .. it would have been a funny "You Tube" moment ?? LOL

Thanks Nancy girl .. it was beyond words and pictures ! : )

That is AMAZING :D

Last night Chuck took me out for dinner, and afterwards we stopped at the beach to dip toes in the water. I wish I would have had my camera to take a picture of the sunset....the sun was this deep, fuchsia-crimson colour, and it was sort of being hugged by the clouds...there's so much beauty in the world :D

Joy, your skies are truly awesome! I am guilty of overusing this word, but can't really help it. I must say it as it is, as you have in this post. Keep looking up at the skies and sharing your awesome moments, because I love them!

Kyna girl thank you : )
That must have been a gorgeous sunset sky and I wish you had your camera too girl ! .. best part as well .. dipping your toes in the ocean .. that must have been absolute heaven !!
I think that too .. I am usually so pessimistic poor husband hears me moan and groan about everything in life .. except the sky and my garden ? LOL

Thanks Rebecca girl : ) .. it was almost eerie because there wasn't any breeze at all and even the birds were quiet !

Thank you so much Kimberly : )
I am totally guilty about using that word too much too .. it is just that common thread we use to describe something we really enjoyed ? and no matter what the description .. the sky amazes me all the time, so you will see it through me ALL the TIME ! hehehe

Hi Sandy girl : )
It was so stunning, that none of these pictures can truly express what it looked and felt like .. I am not a religious person .. but there was such a connection with the total beauty of that sky .. it struck a deep cord .. it is impossible to explain how it felt !

Wow, that is one stunning sky! So many of us miss it - in my case I am trying to get the world organized before I wake our toddler. It is so nice to see this quiet and glorious moments through your eyes. :)

Yep, this was definitely a trip-over-your-hubby-and-wake-him-up-to-get-the-camera kind of sunrise.

Ms S : ) I understand how your mornings are with a toddler .. I have been there and done that one and would never have time for a sunrise or taking pictures of one ! LOL .. I'm happy to share mine with you though and happy you enjoy it girl !

Grace girl .. I can't seem to get into your blog .. I have tried a few ways and I get shut out .. but I will try again this afternoon and see what happens .. maybe it is me on DUH ? button ? LOL
Thanks girl : )
