Little Bee ...

I find it so hard to snap a good picture of "fast" bees working ever so hard.
They are ALL about the business of collecting pollen, and nectar, and all the good stuff bees need to make that delicious honey I love .. which some one just had to tell me one day, that it is actually... "bee spit" ?
TOO MUCH INFORMATION !!!Posted by Picasa

I have heard of some of the tribes in foreign places spit into a gourd and ferment it for a tasty concotion to drink. I have always thought yuck until you mentioned bee spit. Maybe that is where they got the idea to do this.?? Lovely photo.

I have a soft spot in my heart for bees. Chuck calls me 'Little Bee' all the time lol. When he calls 'Bee!' from down the aisle at the grocery store, I'm sure strangers think my name is Beatrice! LOL

Bee spit LOL.

Actually, it's not bee spit.

It's bee vomit.

We use delicious Lyle's Golden Syrup instead.

Great photo.

I'm a beekeeper, and I think that bee spit (or bee barf) is an oversimplification. Sure, flowers' nectar is carried back to the hive in a bee's crop or honey stomach. But it's not really a "bodily fluid."

You know what is pretty gross? Royal Jelly. This used to be a big thing in health food stores, and when I started learning about beekeeping, I realized how disgusting -- and probably bogus -- this bee product is. (I'll leave it up to you, if you want to look this up.)

This reminds me of when my daughter told me that tree pollen is really sperm floating around. Ug. I didn't need to hear that.

Love that pic!

Lisa girl I have heard of that too ! and watched that sort of thing on those special documentaries every once in a while .. I'll take the bee spit over the other stuff thank you ? LOL

Kyna that is too cute with Chuck's pet name for you : ) and yes ! I would assume the same thing about the name calling ? haha
It must be your busy buzzy personality ? ;-) and that is a good thing girl !

Rosemary .. yes .. I did know it went to that extent but I was trying to gloss it over ? LOL

Gail girl .. already there is too much information floating around about this whole subject .. wish I had left it alone ? close your eyes girl ! that is what I am doing ! LOL

Hello again Racquel ! .. it was a bit blurry because of the buzzy personality of this bee ? hehehe

Lisa & Robb .. yes .. I also over simplified it all with this post and I so don't want to know the details of things I eat, so I am steering away from it all now ! eeekkk !!!

Rosey !! EEEEKKKKKK ! now I am freaked out over all that pollen in the air thinking about that aspect ? LOL .. lets not talk about it any more ?? hahaha
