Shadow Shot Sunday aka SSS

This shadow shot was taken over a week ago .. it just struck me as a sort of farewell from my garden for this year .. that it is getting ready for the "big sleep" ... but it wanted to make me smile with colour, light and shadows once more .. till that persistent white blanket has control over it for months and months ... eeekkkk !
SSS is the brain child of Tracy from Hey Harriet .. she has gathered many a shadow shooter up to join in, so have a look at what thoughtful pictures have been taken with shadows in mind !

Hello Sylvia girl and thank you : )
It is kind of sad to say goodbye because I missed almost half of summer with my garden accident .. now I will have cabin fever in a BAD way during the winter because I feel a bit cheated ? LOL

Great shadow shot. Yes, the gardens are ready for winter. Last weekend I said YIKES when the sumac was being trimmed, but I thought of you and your lovely sumac while it was happening. I kept saying, Joy's grew back, so mine will too!

Beautiful shot, I love the leafy shadows!
Here is a link to a Hobbit name generator, although I doubt it is the same one I used:

I found 3 others in my search, but this one was closest to what I remembered.

Beautiful image, I like the idea of the Big Sleep for the garden. Mine is such a mess right now with perennials needing to be cut back. I took some new bunny pics for you today, I hope to post them in the next few days. :)

What a perfect garden photo. Summer is too hot and winter is too cold, but spring and autumn are just right.

Looks like we are all getting a bit nostalgic for summer now. This Autumn garden ShadowShot is terrific. Still plenty of life there! Happy SSS to you!!

We have been doing the same thing - putting the garden to bed. We still have some flowers but all the vegetables have been harvested. So sad to see the gardens so empty!
Love your shadow shot!
have agreat week!

Hello Linda girl ! I keep thinking of your grand-baby and that VERY special birthday coming up ! ;-)
I trim back my Sumac in the Spring but Sumacs are so hardy I think they can take just about anything you do to them! haha .. Mine has dropped leaves before the colour has hit it yet .. not sure what that is about but I know it is healthy .. great weather eh ??!!

Hello Dimple and thank you VERY much !! I love to see conversions of names and character traits to see what these generators come up with so I will be scooting over there to see what happens, thanks ! : )

Rebecca girl YES ! I want to see your bunny , girl !! .. How much do you cut back with your perennials ? I don't really cut back in the Fall .. the dead foliage protects the plant through winter .. it is messy but it does help keep them cozy through the long long winter : )

LOLOLOL Sweet Repose ! You have made me laugh this morning and you are welcome girl : ) hehehe

Hello there N&P and thank you very much .. it was just a minute in time I thought .. YES ! perfect : )

Kay girl that is exactly how I look at it as well ! Spring and Autumn are perfect weather and they are much too short sadly .. I have to say I favor Autumn just a tiny bit more because of .. wait for it .. HALLOWEEN !!! hahaha

Cassie, thanks girl : )
The nostalgia happened because I blew my back and knee out the end of July so August was out of the picture and all of September too really .. so I missed a chunk of gardening and it made the season fly by .. BIG sigh ! LOL

Beverly it is sad to see it wrapping up and the fear of CABIN FEVER after Xmas is on the horizon.
BUT .. I plan and plan and plan the garden and plants all winter so that is what keeps me going : ) LOL

You have me looking at shadow shots now Joy. I usually avoid such shots but now I am looking for unusual shots myself. This does give a person the feeling of cool days with dappled sun and long shadows.

Hey Lisa girl ! I didn't look at shadows that much either until I joined this meme ... now I look all the time and it is so interesting !
yup .. die down is happening a lot faster now .. we have had a few lights frosts .. winter is creeping up on us ! eeeekkkk !!
