Shadow Shot Sunday

Well I have to admit my brain is in total DUH ? mode .. I spent the morning just beginning the Fall clean up the shed and garden routine with husband .. a few hours later I come in ready to fall face first on the bed but become entangled with laundry, dishwasher and baking of apple pie (ready to bake that is not scratch .. are you kidding ??) smells home made all the same though !
Then a scramble to find a suitable shadow shot for my favorite meme .. well there it is .. a favorite plant from this season which I am trying to bring indoors and keep going .. scary but you never know until you try right ?
So .. how are those other "Shadow Shooters" doing ? lets have a look over at Tracy 's place ... Hey Harriet !!

I do hope the plant makes it through the winter!

Is that a hen-and-chicks plant? I leave mine outside all winter and it can get to be -35C or colder here on the prairie.
Beautiful photo, though, for such a busy person. Last time I baked a pie from scratch? Made my own pastry? I want to say 1976 but it was probably 1986. Still, a long time ago. LOL

I hope you are able to save this plant, it would be well worth it.

Hello there Sylvia !
Thank you very much: ) It is truly Autumn weather here this weekend and we are loving it .. hope you have nice weather there too !

EG : )I am hoping that it will get comfortable in the house and stick the winter out with me !

Hi there Kay : ) it is related to that family .. it is an echeveria and this particular cultivar 'Perle Von Nunberg' is a favorite of mine .. but this one I don't know it it will suffer the winter outside (I too have 'hens&chicks' that do though too)I want to see if it will tolerate the house during winter to save it .. hey girl, I haven't made pie pastry from scratch even long back than that ! haha

Hello Jeanette and thank you very much .. it is such a beautiful plant I don't think you could take a bad picture of it ? haha
Fingers crossed !

Hello there Harriet girl : )
Thank you ! .. it is a gorgeous plant .. wish I could send you a piece of that pie, it was just so yummy ! LOL

Ok that's bizarre!! (not the plant, but the pie!!) The plant is really different and very pretty, especially for a "dark" one! I hope it holds up well for you thru the winter. The bizarre part... and you can ask you son cause I even told him yesterday too...I made mini apple pies yesterday!! I have done apple pies in years but got in a mood! I didn't make the crust but I DID make the filling. It was oooohhhh sooo yummy!!! Guess we were on the same wavelength yesterday!

PS- Make sure you wish Joy a Happy Birthday today ladies (and gents!)

So if you are doing garden cleanup then you are feeling a little better?

I love all the shots that you took. And the toad lily in the last post, well it took my breath away. Rarely have I seen that many flowers on them.

Hi Linda girl !
That is too funny isn't it ? I think it is the change of season to Autumn .. you just NEED to bake, and apple pie smells so darn GOOD !
These pies are frozen but not baked so baking them is sort of from "scratch" ? cheating ? LOL
I have been having a long and wonderful birthday for weeks ! hehe
Thank you : )

Thank you Anka ! I love this plant and I hope to keep it going inside for the winter : )

Hi Jen : ) I am trying hard to get moving here and what better than lovin' up the garden ? LOL
thank you so much girl : ) I have loved my Toad Lilies ever since I started growing them ages ago and yes ! this is the first time I have had this plant cluster flower so beautifully .. and be able to take decent pictures of it is a blast !

Thank you Laura : ) it is so beautiful how could a picture of it be bad ? LOL

Hello Christine girl : ) Thank you! I am guilty of not having a peek at your blog lately .. I swear I am going to catch up this week !!
And yes .. nothing like apple pie and cool Autumn weather : )

It will be ready to go next Spring(-: I keep thinking of all the stuff to move inside this year...last year I waited to long. We still have another month of nice weather before our first frost so I have a while to prepare(-:
