I think I have been "befuddled" this garden season .. I missed almost half of it from August 1st onward with my over enthusiastic landscaping attempt .. I am still trying to recover from that fiasco .. it is so frustrating !!
I had so much more I wanted to do ..
I read some where, that your garden is at it's best during the winter months while you are planning what to do next .. I think it is scary BUT so true !
Soon it will be Christmas and I will still be thinking of Fall clean-up and what I haven't gotten done yet !
Is any one out there feeling the same ?
Misery loves company and I could use some about now!!

Joy, your garden will survive. Many people do not even do fall clean up, they wait until spring. That new header is great. You have given me an idea for my next header.

Hi, Joy!
Lovely pics and I'm glad to see you still have some cheery color in your garden. I've got a few straggly blooms, but not much.
PS: LOVED that Irish ghost story! I forwarded that to everybody. Thx for the giggle and I hope you're having a great week.
Hi there Eileen girl !
I don't do an obsessive clean up .. I leave "leaves' on the beds but usually tidy up the walking area and do a better job inside the shed (it is scary in there now !! eeekkk )
I think I am going to be changing my header picture at least once a week .. just something new to choose from the garden pictures I take all year. I have to get over to your place and see what you are up to ! haha
Hi Kate girl .. I think the colour is just about done now .. but there seems to be some characters popping out once in a while for me ? hehe
That ghost story is a little "post-Halloween" but great for a laugh! Glad you enjoyed it girl : )
I so enjoy stopping by here!! Just had to share in regards to the "winter" gardens.....I have spent the last three weeks sprucing up (fall cleanup) the planting beds/vegetable beds/and working on some landscaping...almost done but as I work along I am finding myself making a list of "projects" for the future....that's why I love gardening I guess.
I am still in praying for rain mode. I am not worrying about any clean up until I get a good rain or nothing will survive and I will have to start all over.

I was saying the same thing only a week ago. It was the snow last Monday that kick started my a@# to get the winterizing that I do completed. I still notice that I have to empty two water reservoirs and get them stored before the freeze and crack!
I need to get my winter layer of compost on the beds and then get some leaves. It seems they fell earlier and all managed to blow away in our recent blustery weather. I will have to walk the neighborhood tomorrow and see if I can snag a bag of four from the curbside.
New header is wonderful!
You rest up all winter Joy and make fabulous plans for your garden (but don't include heavy lifting) and you will be ready to tackle it all in the spring. You still have some nice colour in the garden and isn't it wonderful to discover the odd bloom that you weren't expecting.
Hello Danielle : ) thank you for stopping by! .. that is so true about gardening .. it is a never ending adventure .. there is ALWAYS something more that we want to do or change .. it is NEVER a dead end and we are all HOOKED ! LOL
Lisa girl I so hope you get that rain you need !! I would share ours if I could girl .. I am waiting for a break to get a few more things done if I can .. the weather holds us hostage doesn't it ?;-)
Fingers crossed for ya' girl !
Barry wasn't that a kick to the pants with the SNOW ! I was thinking of you there and what would be running through that fertile mind of yours ? LOL
We got our rain barrel emptied just before the really hard frost hit the next morning here .. if only you were here in Kingston you would NOT be short of leaves my friend .. I would have lots to share !!
Good luck with that mission my friend .. I will be thinking of you as I rake up some over abundance ?
Thanks for the header compliment .. I am going to change it weekly as a winter project ? LOL
Linda girl I never expected this to drag on so long .. I guess I have unrealistic expectations of what my poor body can do anymore ? LOL
Winter is meant for that though isn't it ? revitalization and PLANNING !! .. YES : ) it was amazing to see little blooms dotted here and there .. even the day lily was wonderful : )
Great November post - I liked your pics!
Hi there Heather and thank you !
Lovin the new header, very fresh.
I don't really clean up over the winter. I leave it for the birds, and do it in the spring.
It's good to see the bones in the winter, it does excite your enthusiasm.
