White on white and nonsense ......

Well we have been lucky and dodged the bullet with a honking huge winter storm that has hit south western Ontario .. so far we just have this dusting of snow .. not a lot to complain about but the characters in my garden will find something I am sure !
All of the grasses poking out remind me of BAD HAIR DAYS some how ?

Hameln Fountain grass looks so pretty to me still .. it seemed to have a season all of its own this year ..
The Provence lavenders have been amazing ... some just absolutely huge to me !

Avert your eyes from the bricks that have sat there all year ... I truly meant to use them !
Yes .. my pumpkin is still safely tucked away .. I can't give it up .. it will probably be starting baby pumpkins next Spring exactly right there !
The boys .... are not .... happy ....
A burst of beautiful colour in the all too white world ?
OK .. a gratuitous sprinkle of cat pictures ... I just can't help myself ??
Now how darn cute can you get ??

Oh no Joy, now your garden is looking more and more like mine. Awful, isn't it? We SHOULD be use to it by now, but it's always a difficult adjustment. I hope the boys don't grumble too much...

We here in Huttonville seem to be having great luck avoiding the snow so far! On Monday, the CBC (radio) was predicting all hell was about to break loose in much of the provence, but seem to have escaped the worst and have only the slightest dusting of snow.
I must say that your garden looks good even snow covered. My favorite picture is the last one of Emma the cat. It has been bitterly cold here today and I fell warm and fuzzy just looking at her!

"starting baby pumpkins"?? I am laughing my head off here. Joy, you are so funny!!

btw, your garden looks very elegant with a dusting of snow. :)

Hello there Rebecca girl !
I have to say we went without snow far longer than normal, so this is really not so bad (makes the garden look clean and neat ? LOL)
Drivers here seem to have their memories wiped out as to how to drive in the white stuff .. takes a few weeks ? The boys just have to have a grumble about something every day .. it is "their thing" that they do ? wink wink

Hello there Jennifer ! Did you just go through a bad storm a few days back ? I haven't been listening to the radio at all so I dodge the "sky is falling" commentary ? haha
Thank you : ) but the garden looks so bare to me .. thankfully I have some structures to break up the monotony ? Emma is one cat that can get her comfort zone just right .. yo should see them in front of the fireplace ? wink wink

Ms S girl : ) Thank you so much !.. Hey I have been reading the new seed catalogs and THINKING ! haha .. I'm sure that is a pregnant pumpkin just waiting for me to not pay attention .. the "little ones" will be hiding until I discover the VINES ? haha

That is more than a dusting to me Joy. ;) Stay warm & give your cute kitties a pat from me. :)

Racquel girl : ) that really is considered a dusting by Canadian standards ! haha
The girls appreciate the pats : )LOL!
They are spoiled rotten!

It looks like you got a bit more snow than we did. We seem to be in that pocket that is avoiding it right now. That sure was a lot of lake effect snow that was dumped on sw Ontario ... I'm so glad it wasn't us!!

Heather at Dusty Bay said...

We've been hearing about your snow over there. Here on the "wet" coast we've had one little dumping but I'm sure there's more to come! Thanks for the tour around your place - stay warm, eh?

Always great to see Sophie and Emma! But poor Dave and the boys--looks like they're in for another long winter.

You're not the only one who still has pumpkins out, Joy--mine are buried somewhere under the snow on the patio:)

Linda we are lucky here in Kingston most times .. the clouds push over to the other side of the lake to the States and they get it there ... phew! haha .. wait for it though ??

Hello there Heather : ) I remember those years on Vancouver Island with wet weather .. moss grew on EVERYTHING ! haha .. Thank you and you are welcome !

Rose girl I am so glad some one else has their pumpkin .. we can be the Pumpkin Sisters ?? LOL
Sophie and Emma KNOW how to be the most comfortable possible in any situation ? haha .. i am still trying to find tiny scarves for the boys .. maybe some toques too ?;-)

Everything looks so pretty. I am jealous of that grass.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Sandy girl which grass are you jealous of ? I get a kick out of seeing them in the snow (I am a grass fan .. that sounds funny some how ?)
They just look so cute in the snow along with the lavender .. which will shrivel at some point I know .. but so far they look great : )

The kitties are cuties. Your snow images are lovely. I have been too chilly to get out and get snow photos. We have been getting quite a bit of snow lately too.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Eileen we have been fortunate not to get the HUGE dumps that south western Ontario has been having .. but I'm sure our turn will come up soon ? The grasses make me smile when I see them peeking up like this : )

Hello Donna I was just over at your place : ) YES ! I think you have been getting way more than we have .. but it is coming ! LOL The "girls" love everyone saying they are cute ! hehe

The snow is lovely covering your gargoyle and gardens. I love the shot of your kitties! We have no snow! I am beginning to wish we did. ;>)

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hello Carol girl and thank you !
The girls thank you too ? LOL

Thanks Carrie girl : )
I just sent an e-mail to you asking about Fennel & Fern .. I am trying to find their widget to post on my side bar .. I saw it on your's and followed through .. it is a nice place : )

That's just a sprinkling of snow; it looks a lot to me. I understand what you mean about the bad hair day of the grasses! But what happens to them when the snow melts? Christina

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hello Christina : )
I just read your post on the stipa .. the pictures were wonderful I really love that grass ! Actually we have been so lucky not to have much snow at this point .. but I am sure the rest will follow SOON !
Spring time means "hair cuts" for most of the grasses to allow new growth to come up unhindered .. except for the fescue .. I learned what a mistake that is to do to them ! eeekkk ! haha

We've had it pretty easy so far, Joy. The amount of snow we've gotten is wimpy for us tough Canucks. But it's okay with me! I don't need too much of the white stuff.

The photos are very pretty, very 'winter' scenic. And I just love the photo of your two girls. So cute... I've taken a few photos of my fuzzy girls cuddled up together. I should post them on my blog one day. Gotta show off the girls.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Martha girl we have had it TOO easy is right ! .. I am waiting for the BIG dump that is due any time ??? LOL
YES !! I have to get over to your place and see some critter time ! : )

Dear Joy! your garden looks very ornamental under snow. Those grasses and the bench... btw - is the bench black or it only looks like because of contrast on the white background?
Hugs,

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hello Ewa girl : )
Thank you ! .. this is a new bench I bought this past year and it is black metal .. but light weight thankfully, so I can shift it here and there .. and it does look wonderful against the snow doesn't it ? : )

Your garden looks gorgeous covered with snow! and I really like that bench, if I ever have a big garden i will definitely put a bench like that one.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Thank you so much fer !
I had gone through a few benches with this garden .. and this one is my favorite one .. metal but not heavy at all .. it is perfect : )
