Shadow Shot Time

Here we are again in "Shadow Shot" time .. I should say time warp because it seems to be speeding up every week .. and yet the mornings are getting darker .. which is my least favorite aspect of the beginning to wave summer good bye. The heat and drought I can lose as fast as possible though!
My new little garden friend here (holding on to one set of pruners that I can remember where the heck they are in my lovely PINKNESS !) .. is an Inukshuk that was our logo and mascot for the 2010 winter Olympics in British Columbia .. I love this little guy because he is very Canadian and brings a smile to my face every time I see him ... and my pruners!!
Tracy over at Hey Harriet is our happy go lucky gal in Australia that hosts this meme .. so travel way over there and see some pretty amazing shadow shots from my fellow shooters : )

I saw the photo, and the first thought going through my mind was, Cool, shadow shot. But why is Joy putting gummy bears on her sculpture?

Ah ha they are clippers...not melted gummy bears.

Hope that you get some relief from the heat soon.

Ummm if you read my blog post you will kind of get the feeling that I am more then a little fed up with all the folks complaining about the apparently lack of heat, and sunshine here.

Great shadow shot for the day! Do wish I could send you some of our rainy weather and cool temps -- I don't want to experience a drought like yours, but wouldn't mind a little more sunshine!! Enjoy your weekend!

What serious gardener can survive the tasks without an assistant? Like the relationship of the caddy to the golfer, the right tool needs to be obtained. You need the pruner, your assistant provides it without hesitation. You are blessed...

THe days still feel plenty long, the time change is sort of faraway - the heat and dry conditions of Summer remain in place. Down here, it will be hot and dry all of next week. I still prefer that to snow!

Where did I leave those pruners? LOL!

Jen girl I was just over to your place : ) GUMMY BEARS !!!! LOL .. Now I am craving them like crazy, you bad girl !! Yes .. I read your post on the "whiners of weather" and how true is that ! .. but I'll get my whine in now .. we NEED RAIN !!!! send it over here please : ) and some gummy bears too !! hahaha

Hello there Sylvia : ) and thank you!I wish you could send me some of your weather too !! I promise to send some sunshine if you can get things moving ;-)

Ralph .. you are so right, I am blessed in so many ways : )
My new assistant is wonderful and he makes me smile every time I look at him! I understand your aversion to snow .. I like just a dusting of it myself .. instead of the usual 6 feet of it! haha .. but I can honestly tell you the days are getting shorter .. it is darker in the morning .. and that is the worst party for me since I get up so early .. but what can we do?
Suck it up and survive it once again!

Lona girl .. I just knew some one was going to say that sooner or later .. I lose my pruners (and I have quite a few) every time I get in the garden .. ah, the trials and tribulations of a gardener ? LOL

Love your little lnukshuk. He is quite the little helper in holding your "lost" clippers. I loose mine sometime.
Just was trying to teach the GGS's to be sure to put tools where they know where they are. Don't throw them on the ground.
Sure wish you had some of this rain.
Have a great weekend {what's left}.

Love the shadows and the inukshuk! Would you believe we were in St. Jacob's last weekend and got a white one for our garden last Saturday?!! It was for our anniversary.
Have a wonderful weekend!

That little guy bring a smile to my face, too :)
Very good and nice photography.

I like your cute little garden friend. I hope he helps you with the weeding! I don't expect he'd be much help with the mowing as he appears a little too short to push a mower! Surely your summer can't be ending anytime soon? It feels as though you've just entered summer. Or maybe I'm just getting muddled up due to our reversed seasons... Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Love the garden helper!! Oh,.....I can relate to drought. We haven't had any significant rainfall for weeks. And the heat index is way up there to the danger zone where they're informing everyone to 'stay indoors'.

My shadow this week is of a horn cleat [what you use to tie up a boat at the dock]

Hope your weekend has treated you well.

Hi Stef and thanks : ) I totally loved Jordie with Elmo for your shadow shot !

Hi there Linda .. especially since he was on sale so all the better !! haha

Hey there Lola .. you would hate seeing me throw mine on the ground the way I do .. I am so bad it is terrible ! Keep teaching the GGS the right way so they don't end up like me !! haha

Beverly girl a belated HAPPY anniversary !! And that is too cool you have one too : ) We Canadians EH? haha

Thank you Tatjana : ) it is too cute and has to make everyone *smile* that is his job ! LOL

Tracy you made me envision him trying to mow the lawn and that was just too funny girl !
Summer will be here for some time yet .. but the subtle time change in sun rise and position has started .. I know because I get up so early and watch it so intensely.. a hobby? of mine ;-)

Annie girl those dog days of summer are really hard on so many people .. I am thankful every day we have AC and we don't have to suffer so much .. thanks girl ! : )

Now, the trick would be to get the Inukshuk to actually do the pruning! It's a nice piece for the yard, and I am totally impressed by the pink pruners. Mine are a bland green.
Nice shadows. Hot and humnid here too, with a lotof rain. Now, a hot sunny spell to begin for a week.

Peace

My Grandson would want to play with that ....garden robot? Mine is here: http://www.looseleafnotes.com/wp/2011/07/stalker/

Hello Joe (that always reminds me of AI movie and the male escort robot ? LOL) .. Yes .. getting my little Inuksuk to actually prune and edge would be fantastic .. mean while back at the farm ? haha .. Pink rules so yes I have to have pink pruners !!
there is nothing bland about green .. green is a life force colour ;-)
I am so hoping for some rain tonight .. we can really use it !

Grace girl I knew you would like the pinkness factor to my pruners!
I discovered that I moved a beautiful pink hydrangea by mistake .. I thought it was Quickfire .. now I have gorgeous pink lacecaps stuck behind chinensis astilbe .. jeez ! another mistake to fix !

Thank you Charlotta : ) how is the weather in Sweden ? LOL

Colleen I totally loved the stalker stalking the other stalker (kitty)!!

Red handled (or pink as the case may be) garden tools are the bees knees! Many is the time I've lost a trowel or clippers in the grass but the red handle always returns them to the shed.

Marguerite (if you only knew how many times I can NOT spell your name correctly girl !) haha .. I was just over to your place and enjoyed the mystery of sudden flowers, the cilantro and a PUMPKIN !! now that was just too cute : )
I am lucky husband finds my tools and patiently puts them back in the shed for me .. and sharpens my pruners .. I am a terrible tool mom ! LOL
