Shadow Shot Time

It was just by pure luck and chance that I saw the shadow of this annual euphorbia "painted" on the deck chair cushion .. like lace isn't it ? .. then there is the plant itself in shadow and light ... a feast for shadow eyes ?
I am so happy that I truly enjoy those special moments when you are "still" inside and can see beautiful images you might have missed when you are busy ?
Other "shadow shooters" like myself are showing their "still moments" on Tracy's wonderful shadow meme .. so click over to Hey Harriet and see more of those moments to enjoy !

When you're on the alert for shadows, they seem to come to you at the most unexpected but opportune times!

IF I HAD A SHADOW

If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:

My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;

My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east

Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;

My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.

I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

Indoors or out, the shadowy world beckons, and we hope that we are able to capture it. And you have! The nicely detailed subject leaves an elegant shadow on the cushion. Perhaps you have created a new upholstery pattern here - redecoration anyone?

MMT .. now isn't that so TRUE for us shadow hunters ? Our shadows are fierce protectors yes ? LOL

Hello chubskulit and thank you !
Happy SSS way over there : )

Karla & Karrie I really enjoyed seeing that vintage plate with the plant and their shadows .. very much the end of summer times look indeed : )

Ralph : ) I had thought of the pattern in those terms myself .. we always seem to be able to reach way beyond the shadow for more mysteries ? ;-)

A lovely find indeed. So many times trees and plants cast their soft shadows like lace. They are a wonderful reminder of nature's beauty. Thanks for sharing!

They look so beautiful, hope your flower gardens are doing better than mine, almost totally gone from the drought, I'm saving the water for the veggie garden...what a year!!!

And yes, something will have to be done with my other rooster, they fight all the time and sometimes with me....so, panties up...somebody's gotta do it, wish it wasn't me, but I think the first one will be the worst, but I can't see him out by himself all winter, something would eat him, so it might as well be me. I hope I get over the grief and don't have nightmares...LOL!!!

Hi Girl friend. Your shadow-shot is delightful. See I would never notice something like this. I need to take your lead and be more observant. Thanks for the emails. Let's keep in touch.

Hello Jeanette and thank yu for stopping by : ) Yes ! I am in love with trees, I have tried to squeeze so many in my back garden it is ridiculous ;-).. their shadows along with all the other plants are simply beautiful aren't they ? You caught shadows most people would have missed as well!

Sharon we have been so lucky lately to get so much rain every plant and tree has had a wonderful long drink .. crossed fingers for a fantastic Autumn show with those healthy coloured leaves. I hope you get some rain soon too!
OMG .. I am so glad I am not you when it comes to the deed .. I understand your reasons completely and I hope it isn't a huge moment to have to deal with .. good luck girl and get those big girl panties on before it all goes down!

Grace girl you are very welcome : )
I miss a lot of moments too .. but I am so glad to be able to pick up these ones every once in a while: )
Thanks girl !
