The last bits of summer ......

Our neighbor's juicy pears near the top of the tree where the grape vine hides them from the birds ?

The sun kissed rudbeckias glowing in that late afternoon light for those last moments of golden glory.

The last minute hum of insects collecting the last minute goodies from the summer heat.

My Porcelain vine berries turning that amazing blue they do at season's end .. like candies for the birds.

My dreamy Karley Rose grass turning those fabulous colours the way it does this time of year.

My beautiful new butterfly bush that smiled even through this horrible heat and drought.

Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry tree "showing" me what time of year is coming soon ?

My summer sleeping man has finally had enough ... he is truly crumbling this time .. slumber is all he can do!

We can always hope next year won't be as hard on us .. we can "Believe" in a wonderful new garden year?

Oh so true, we can believe that next summer will be a gentle one, and if it isn't then I guess we will have to believe the one after that will be better.

PS that email, even my husband is snorting...

Joy, Why is your post so sad? Autumn is a colorful season too, look at the red leaf! I hope this season will bring you some warm days.

Jen girl , if nothing else we gardeners are always optimistic ? .. until we are laying on the ground moaning and groaning ! haha
Too funny ! A Brit friend sent me that and I had a right giggle too!
LOL wink wink

Nadezda girl I didn't mean for it to be sad .. even though this summer was a sad one with the drought .. I love Autumn, but the trees have suffered so with the drought that I doubt there will be much of a show .. and we live in a wonderful area that should be very showy .. I am still waiting for the rain ? LOL

LOL, oh Joy for a second I thought your sign said 'Behave'. Immediately I wondered what I had done wrong! How dare that serviceberry lie like that?

Ha Ha ! Marguerite girl was that a Freudian slip of the mind ? My serviceberry is probably so darn tired of this crappy summer that it just wants to go to sleep and forget about it ? LOL
We did just have a great few minutes of rain this morning with lots of thunder and lightning .. so the garden got a drink !
