Cranky Old Man Winter Strikes Again !

What can I say ? ... sticky snow is pretty .. but I feel so sorry for all of the people that have to drive in this mess old man winter decided to pound us with !
However .. finding the silver lining in this havoc ? ... yes ! ... more ground water for the gardens is always appreciated ... so a rather two sided thank you ? to the white wizard ;-)

We are presently soaked with standing water in places and slush everywhere. Not so much fun. Your snowy photos are much nicer to look at. Happy shoveling.

Sticky snow that doesn't want to leave...sigh. Sorry that you got so much, here's hoping that it goes away soon.

And yes, groundwater is such a good thing I am learning.

Hi Joy, Boy oh boy, I couldn't believe how heavy that snow was. My snow shovel handle literally snapped in two! After last year's mild weather, I think Old Man Winter decided he wanted to remind us what a Canadian winter was all about. Enough already!! You have our renewed respect.
I am beginning to feel like we live in the land that spring forgot! If I see one more tulip picture from down south, I may just have to throw myself off the snow cliff at the end of the driveway!

Well I know it is no comfort Joy girl but it was a beautiful snow. Beautiful pictures. That is the only place I want to see it now too. LOL! It is snowing again here this morning too. I hope it gets it all out of its system and leaves us with a warm bright spring soon.

This looks like a heavy wet snow. Glad you can be home safe and sound. The garden looks lovely in it's white winter coat.

That bird feeder sure got weighed down! We missed this last round of snow and I don't much mind. The snow is okay but it's the getting stuck inside with blowing wind and white out conditions. That sun sure feels warmer though these days, spring can't be far away.

Hello Patty girl !
It started to melt a bit .. now we are colder for the first day of March . plus snow flurries .. I know I have spots in the shade garden that will have slushy water standing for a bit .. but that is the better place to have it happen!

Hey there outlaw ;-)
I am counting the days and almost fearful ? haha .. so much to do it is overwhelming but one thing at a time right ? thanks ! LOL

Jen girl : ) it truly does so much good to have all this moisture in the ground after it melts (some time ?) so I can not complain .. but waiting for Spring is a long vigil this year some how.

Jennifer girl how are you !
I have actually had that happen to me too years ago .. it was pretty funny .. almost ? STOP looking at southern garden blogs girl or you will lose your mind or go down that snow cliff? LOL .. I can't look at them .. it drives me NUTS !! haha

Lona girl it was beautiful to see the next morning but yes .. BIG sigh .. it seems like Spring is not going to come for a very long time yet .. crossed fingers and wishes it would get in GEAR !! haha

Hello Elaine girl : )
It did get really warm .. melted some of it but now for the first day of March it is cold and flurries were flying.
March 10th ? WOW ! I thought it was in April .. hooray !!! fingers crossed the temps will warm up too!!

Lisa girl you are right .. for those moments the garden did look truly lovely .. but I can't wait to see what is underneath to start getting excited about ;-) thanks!

Marguerite girl it was funny to see the bird feeder so lopsided .. I felt like that too ? LOL
I can well understand how you feel being trapped indoors .. I am so ready for easier times and some good garden therapy !!

Joy, you're right! When I see tonnes of snow in my garden, in the city, I think: how can it melt? Where does this water go away?
Have a nice weekend!

Hello Nadezda girl .. this is a great source of inner ground water when it decides to melt and let Spring arrive! LOL
I just saw your post on the Shrovetide and it was really interesting!

Eileen girl I am so with you on this .. I think this winter is really going to be hard to get rid of this year some how .. darn it all !
