It is freezing cold here .... there is a lot of snow on the ground still .. the birds do NOT know what to do.
We have put out extra seed to help out .. I feel so sorry for them.
I did catch a shot of this confused and irritated robin in our maple tree ... he is calling out his territory but half heartedly in this winter like weather, during what should be Spring by now.
A tiny shot of light creates a shadow on his chest from the maple twigs.
Perhaps my smallest shadow shot yet along with my first glance of a robin .. poor thing !

Lovely photo ! Our Robins have been back for some time but I think they are regretting it a bit as the temps are still cold here to but the sun has been shining a bit more and what little snow we have is slowly melting for now ! Have a good day !
Hi CGJ...
Shadow time is a visit time in Canada. Isn't it amazing, I am in Canada every w/end and U in Stockholm? Fantastic!!!
WoW! It is a Spring sign (as I can remember) when birds is on the air happy flying.
Hope you have a great day.
Hugs,

I don't think I've ever heard a robin called confused and irritated before! :)
Fortitude of Shadows
I agree - what is with this weather?? It ought to be warmer than this. We have Canada Geese hanging around...although they will probably stay her and avoid the GWN. Yet, the arrival of the robin does portend great things. March is acting as it always has - unpredictable...
Sweet little robin! I thought about you the other day when I was looking at my snow fence and saw the shadow it created on the snow, it was like lace! Cheers~
With such cold weather in various parts of the country, birds are pleased to be fed. You are doing them a big favor.
Indeed, this is a sad view of the little robin! Even though it is "Nature", it is hard to accept that any animal should struggle for food on a cyclical basis!
I'm with that Robin - so confused! We've had two storm days this week and more snow to come. Where did my +10 degrees go?
Beautiful picture you show a freezing bird.
Here in Denmark (Central Jutland) is ogdå bitterly cold (after årtiden). There is snow and we have minus 7.9 degrees. The birds and animals find it difficult to keep warm, find food. Wish you a good Sunday :) Hanne Bente
JOY...YOU HAVE A ROBIN!! oh, i wait for them all winter...people are seeing them. i hope i see or hear one this week!! love this shot!!
Beautiful capture!!
Snow came in grundles here yesterday... today it's all but melted. Crazy weather. Stay warm!
Has spring forgotten all about us? It has been miserably cold all week. This morning it was sunny...briefly. I sure hope we get a break in the weather soon.
I too have been putting out seed for the birds. It must be hard for them to find something to eat after such a long winter.
Have a nice Sunday afternoon Joy!
The lone sailor eh?
My Shadow Shots
Have a blessed Sunday.
Hi Joy Dear,
What is it with winter this year? You're tired of Mother Nature's crap, by now, aren't you? And so is that bird.
It is a pretty picture though. Sending hugs.
Thank you all for dropping by and leaving comments I truly appreciate it ! We are in the middle of helping our son move so this house is in chaos and I am dead tired .. so it will be a while before I can catch up with everyone .. thanks again though!
Well, it's not *freezing* cold, but it's definitely not very warm. Spring forgot to arrive!
