A beautiful day for remembrance yesterday - remember times in Montreal we'd be snowed on while we stood with the soldiers. The Oakville services were really well attended.
Today the ash came down. Can't believe it's gone. B.
Hello Barb .. yes the weather was the first time I can remember in along time to be so amazing. I was amazed at your pictorial story of that ash ! The machinery makes it so much easier now and with it being so close to your house ! wow !
Lovely images Joy. I especially love the maple leaf photograph. My father-in-law passed just about a year ago and his birthday in Nov. 12th. He worked in the chemical labs out west during the 2nd World War. He participated in testing protective gear for a new enemy- the gasses that were first used at the end of the first World War. I asked him if he minded being a human guinea pig. He told me no, it was his patriotic duty to put life on the line just like the soldiers at the front. Hubby laid a wreath in his honour on Tuesday.
Thank you so much for sharing that Jennifer .. he sounded like a kind and honorable man. That was a wonderful way of remembering him. I feel a connection with this day when I publish that maple leaf picture in honor of the vets.
