Then sometimes you get a little more
Then .. there are the plants that offer up that colour .. Buttered Rum ...
Fantastic contrast to the "green" that can be a bit monotonous ?
One of my mystery hydrangea .. I thought I knew what is was, .... now .. nope !
It colours up before Pinky Winky (to the left of the yews)
Pinky has nice big flowers that will morph into the pink it is named for .. stages of colour really.
Little Lamb
Little Lime ... the "Little Sisters" ?
Also .. Little Quick Fire ... with it's parent "Quick Fire" standing behind it.
So you are catching on the the "little" theme ?
So ... colour is cracking here and there .. the big A for Autumn is sneaking in bit by bit and I welcome the change ... not the work but that is another matter .. for now the colour is CRACKING !

That is the only thing wrong with those Tiger Eye Sumacs. They are creepers. They creep into the most unwanted areas. I have one by our patio. The patio has a crack in it. I fully expect to see one pop up there. I will deal with it when it happens.
You have lots of color in your garden.
Love the photos. So rich in color.
Cracking post Joy and that sky is stunning. Your white Hydrangea I prefer to pinky winky.
Gorgeous sunsets! Beautiful colors in your garden. I feel change in the air and, while I love autumn, the season that follows (we dare not speak it's name yet) seems so long. Lingering in the garden every day for as long as desired gives way to only passing through occasionally and I miss the lushness of summer.
Thank you Lisa girl : ) .. Yes .. sumacs have that tendency but Tiger Eye is much easier than my Staghorn was .. now that was WICKED to get rid of even though I loved the parent tree so much .. such a beauty in Fall. I love those Buttered Rum heucherella for COLOR !! LOL
Thanks so much Alistair .. I am not often lucky to catch a sky on fire here, so that was a treat : ) .. my hydrangeas this year have been stellar and I am loving them all.
Peter .. thank you ! ..I so know what you mean about the hum? mystery season we dare not speak of .. it does tend to drive me to madness ? LOL ... but for now .. I am getting that A for Autumn feeling and loving it : )
Your Little Quickfire is truly little, check out my current blog post to see just how big mine is! It’s a favorite of mine. My Little Lime is still little, maybe it will stay that way.
Hi Robin .. you had a great post, such pretty pictures ! .. My Little Quick Fire is little because it has been transplanted so many times .. and will be again to get it in the "just right " position for the front garden .. I just hope it will put up with it one more time and it should look almost perfect then ? haha
I love orange and red - flowers and foliage.
Hi Jason .. yes I can see from your posts how much you love that color combination ! LOL
I have a weakness for it too .. especially with Autumn just around the corner!
Love it! From the lady who painted her house yellow. :o)
Tammy (thanks !) I just popped over to your blog and saw the PROJECT .. WOW !!
It is gorgeous and I can't wait to see how it develops over the next few years, it is going to be awesome.
