I haven't been in the garden for ages .. I tweaked my lower back with it's very cranky discs that are eroding badly .. I kept at my yin yoga but I should have known better to just completely rest.
Why do we repeat mistakes continuously through out our lives knowing better ? LOL
In any case .. I did manage to catch some photos ..
There was talk of the wonderful Harvest Moon .. my pictures are not the best but I was battling circumstances and ... hanging out my bedroom window at times .. yes quite the spectacle, but at least it was dark out ? :-)
It was only on the 14th that I could capture almost decent ones .. when it was rising , it was the most unbelievable orange yellow (again from my bedroom window with so many obstacles from my neighbors hedges and trees) my husband thought it was a coloured solar light .. he was amazed.
Take note of the white asterisks to see the rough edge of an impact crater .. click on the picture.
What about my garden ?
It has been thriving so far .. without my constant worry and fussing .. huge sigh of relief on that !
Hydrangea are stunning .. Little Lamb here .. my first love.
I missed getting pictures of Pinky Winky (that name still slays me) was AMAZING ! deep rose with white tops , something I did not expect because that is what "Strawberry Vanilla" is supposed to be known for .
Phantom (above) is on the small side for now but will be quite large when it matures ... as will the two Berry White hydrangea (all paniculata) that I have planted against the side fence
These are both new to me as with all the Bobo (maybe 6 of them ? eeek!) I went a little overboard buying those ones ...what can I say.
But they are not the only plants that draw in the pollinators .. hosta flowers perplex me at times.
Some of them I cut off so they won't drain the plant itself too much and others I leave to let these little creatures get as much goodness as possible.
The garden is doing its thing .. hopefully waiting for me to do my thing ?
Colours and light are shifting .. almost a dreamy characteristic.
Korean Wax Bells are blooming just as they should this time of year.
And .... fascinating tiny scenarios of water bubbles cupped by lichen, now how beautiful is that ?

Your flowers look lovely. I cut some of my hosta flowers off also. Your pink hydrangeas are gorgeous.
Wow! you are a great photographer. Your Harvest Moon pic is stunning. I took a pic of it also. It's not as nearly as good as yours. I have a lot to learn about photography. I wish I was better. Happy Fall..Thelma.
Wow everything is so beautiful! I am so sorry to hear you hurt your back. I know how that is. The moon pictures are amazing! It was a wonderful moon to see. We watched it rise and we were really impressed. Especially since it was the Friday the 13th full moon(-:
I hope you feel better soon!
I am happy to see that you felt well enough to take a few pictures to post. I am needing to pull a few old hydrangeas that do nothing but instill a bit of green to the garden. I want blooms. I have been watching the reports about various varieties. I will give some a try next year. Your garden looks gorgeous. It is always encouraging when the garden gets along without us. The only bad part is that the weeds take advantage of this opportunity. I hope they don't party too much in your garden and you can keep all under control. Cheers.
Sorry to hear about your back. Some lovely photos, especially of the moon.xxx
Hello Thelma and thank you so much ;-)
Hey .. it takes so many pictures to nail just one decent one out of the lot .. I could never have done this without it being digitized ? LOL .. that really is the secret to it all .. just keep snapping and the truly good one will shine through .. hey your garden is SO pretty !
I love all the different trees you have and the plants are gorgeous .. this season flew by didn't it ?
Thank you so much Cindee .. it was a gorgeous moon, I just wish I could have captured that amazing colour it had .. funny enough our skies were overcast on that Friday so I had to capture it on Saturday ? LOL
Lisa that is my credo now as well .. if a plant, shrub etc .. isn't performing, it GOES !
I want something in exchange for the space and care I give plants .. anything at all .. just a warm fuzzy feeling will do for goodness sake ! LOL
Thanks so much for the compliments .. but I really have neglected the gardens this past month .. I am going to be in such trouble ! LOL .. I can hear the weed party from bed at night ... haha
Thank you so much Snowbird .. the moon has always fascinated me, I adore seeing how dramatic it can look and boy .. that night my husband thought it was a coloured solar light until it started to rise .. well it was stunning !
Oh goodness, I LOVE your garden so very much and boy do you take professional grade photos that just make me want to be there even more! Love hydrangeas of all types and lichen and that moon! and your hostas always look like something from 'the book of the best most wonderful hostas'!
My best wishes to you, hope you can fully enjoy your beauties soon xx
Well, I’m sure it’s nice to know that your garden still looks gorgeous even when you can’t get out there to pamper it!
Hello Carrie sweetie ! Thank you so much ... a lot of pure luck on many photos .. right place/right time ? LOL My garden is becoming an older "Grande Dame" to me after all the years I have been preening her ? haha
Hello Robin .. yes it is a comfort the gardens can struggle on without me for a while.
It's all looking lovely Joy. After a wet cold spring - perfect for those hydrangeas, it just seemed to be one of those summers that was hot enough when you needed it and rainy enough too. I love your moon shots - have a new camera - last one just pooped out and hope to have some of my own to share. Hope your back decides to behave itself so you can get out and putter when you feel the call.
Hello Barb girl !
Thank you so much ;-) ... I was just over to your blog and wow ... so much has changed in your life so quickly ! .. You have had so much to handle and get through, and there you were with wonderful pictures of new plants that made me want them way too much ! Naughty you ! LOL
Thanks for stopping by ... and I hope things have calmed down more for you so you can enjoy your new digs and neighbors ! Good luck with the camera .. some times they seem to have a life of their own no matter what we do or want .. haha
Your hydrangea blooms are wonderful.
Thanks Jason .. it has been an exceptional year for them ;-)
Hello, your hydrangeas are wonderful indeed and the moon photos are very good. Every now and then also I try to take photos of the full moon but they never come out well.
Thank you for your comment today. It's a fun coincidence that last night I had a dream that I had been staying for some time in Canada and was thinking that I would happily live there permanently. :) (Unfortunately I have never been to Canada in real life...)
Have a lovely Sunday!
Hello Sara VE !
Thank you so much ;-) The moon is one tough subject to capture .. I found very early morning if you are lucky enough to see it, the lighter sky helps the camera engage and sharpen those details .. more so in early Spring .. so that is on my calendar ! LOL
I truly hope one day you can visit our country .. we are NOT like the USA .. so many people from different countries have the impression that we are .. I'm not saying that in a snarky way (especially with the trump issue) it is the fact that we are just very different in many ways than they are ..
So .. I really hope you have a chance one day :-)
Hello again!
It would be lovely to visit Canada. It's like Finland, only much bigger and more handsome. :D
You are very kind Sara ... thank you ! ;-)
Dear Joy,
thank you for your comment and for not forgetting my blog. Your Moon photos are awesome, I've never been able to photograph it well. It seems your garden weeds itself - I've not seen any weeds there :-) Contrarily my garden is in weeds because of my heart disease.
I know that Canadian people are different of USA people. My son lives in Chicago and told me about.
Hello there Nadezda girl ! ;-)
I would never forget your blog .. I have difficulty some times (well, a lot of the time lately) catching up to read posts and leave comments myself .. the new RA diagnosis, on top of all the rest .. has hit me hard ... makes working in the garden difficult to say the least.
So now the people that used to say how "neat" my garden looks all the time ? They would be having a hay day seeing it now .. it is a mess ! LOL But Garden PA are going to try and sort it out before the snow flys .. fingers crossed.
I'm sorry about your heart condition girl ... it seems so many of us gardeners have to handle a lot of physical set backs while we muddle through and enjoy our little pieces of Eden eh ?
Bravo for your son explaining the differences ? .. I hope they are all in our favor ? LOL
Take care !
Your photos of the moon and gardens are beautiful Joy! We gardeners do have a lot of common. I hurt my back just tow weeks ago pulling out some shrubs that I shouldn't have, but I was determined to prove to myself that I could still do it! Hope your back is feeling better and that you continue to enjoy those beautiful hydrangea blooms! Happy gardening!
Hello there Lee and thank you so much !
I so know the ouch from trying to pull out shrubs ... some nesting spruce really made trouble for me with my back and legs .. it is amazing how strong some shrub roots can be eh ? LOL
This has been an exceptional year with beauty in the garden .. I am grateful to have a garden that I can enjoy so much, and bloggers who I have connected with to see their gardens too!
Loved seeing those new varieties you posted on !
You've got such a fantastic garden. I love your photos so much.
Thanks Gracie .. I am a fan of yours too ! .. we are just mad gardening women eh ? LOL
