Hi ! Hellebore Orientalis !

I know there are some very fancy new cultivars of hellebore .. the new strains with upward turned flower faces .. yes, I think that is a great advantage now to this plant. I am still in awe of how they put up with such wicked weather and not the best of positions in life. So I say "thanks for the flowers, plain old hellebore !" I appreciate them very much !

Joy,

Happy spring! They are a marvelous perennial aren't they....neither rain, nor sleet nor snow stops them from blooming and they make babies, too!

That's one beautiful hellebore! Everytime I try to plant one, my dog digs it up! Not sure what's up with that. Good to know other people are enjoying them.

Hi Kathleen .. I just happened upon this one a couple of years ago .. and wow ! I'm lucky it took to its place here and has been a steady little bloomer since .. I wonder if your dog thinks you keep planting in his favorite spot ? LOL
