Just a Wonderful Spring Day !

I would like to have just the right picture for this post .. that is the sort of thing I would like to see in any post really. A picture of how darn wonderful it is for Spring to finally drag its sorry butt back to Ontario .. oops ... sorry .. just the last of that winter madness that has been teasing the life out of me !
The garden is in a mess but it is ALIVE ! and kicking .. some what like the Frankenstein monster .. I had to create it .. I love it .. I'm thrilled it keeps coming back to life every year for me .. but whoa .. I have a lot of cleaning up to do before the real fun starts .. kind of scary some what like Gary on the Gardener Side .. the "boys in the 'hood" appreciate his mentioning them with that sign by the way : )

Anywhoooo ... I know it will take a few days of sun to dry the garden up a bit before I can start tramping around, sorting the "garbage" from the "good" ... but in the mean time .. hubby understood my NEED to do something of the "garden nature" today.

So he took me to Canadian Tire (you have to be Canadian EH .. to understand that compulsion) .. and bought me some brand new toys to start out my Spring madness adventure !! Ain't he SWEET ??? .. and I didn't even bother telling him not to bother buying grass seed (I let him dream about the lawn ) because it will be disappearing bit by bit .. meanwhile he can fantasize of golf greens ? LOL

Thus picture of toys today .. to add to the gazillions I have under the bed, in the utility room, in the living room .. and in the family room ... BIG sigh !

Isn't it great when you find just the right tool for the job. And you can never have too many toys!!

Cool tools! It was lovely outside today, got to play in the water a bit by moving leaves out of the way, checked out what was growing and moved some snow from the shady areas of the garden into the sun so they would melt. The ground is still very squishy so we didn't walk on it too much.

Hi Crafty .. yes .. i think we will have a case of the squishies for a bit yet. The weather looks wonderful till Tuesday .. then more cleaning rain will happen. I swept off the front step .. I should have done the deck .. but I can't find the right broom .. haha

Hi Matron .. had a peek at your blog .. all those veggies .. wow .. and the okra mystery ! .. I like that hand turn compost bin !

I can wear out a pair of those hand pruners in just a few months, no matter what I pay for it. So you simply can't have too many!

A gardener can never have too many utensils! I raked and moved gravel back on to the driveway today. First day I WANTED to be outside! Hooray for spring!

Hey J .. isn't it wonderful to feel the sun on you while you putter away ? .. if it wasn't so wet and squishy .. I would be cleaning out my beds and islands .. getting excited about what is popping up .. all that good stuff gardeners LOVE in the Spring !

gardengirl ... finally .. I can BREATH Spring in and get the engines started ! : )

dee .. it does feel exactly like that .. like Xmas was when I was an actual kid .. only this stays longer as the we get to do more fun things we so enjoy !

Brenda .. you would have laughed at me , staring at all the tools on the wall .. saying "wow" quitely to myself .. hehehe .. only other gardeners understand those things !

YAY! Congrats on FINALLY getting your spring. It won't be long here, it's getting warmer and warmer. Still lots of snow here though. My old yard was all ready for work to begin. Too bad I didn't have the time to do anything there!

Hi Joy, cool toys! I spent much of the afternoon outside even though it was cold, cloudy and damp. It's supposed to warm up a bit in another day or two so I hope to get some serious work done.

And after shopping at Canadian Tire, did you refresh yourself with a visit to Tim Hortons? Heh heh! Ooops, I mean, "Eh?"

Shiny new garden tools look like just the thing I need :)

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi Amy ! .. Yes .. we did indulge in some Timmy goodies EH ! .. too wet yet to work in the garden .. but very soon .. I have gotten so many things for the garden this winter .. it is sinful girl ! haha

Melanie .. yes ! the weather is on a steady climb to get warmer and sunnier .. with some rain days of course .. but we can all use that to kick things off as well .. mega work ahead for me ! haha

Cinj .. soon your garden will be released from that winter grip .. I was reading about what you have been up to. It must be a pain with being divided between the two homes still. Better days ahead !

Hi neza .. just left a note back on your site .. love the tools girl ! haha

Hi Gail .. I have to let hubby hang on to a bit of grass .. I think golfers have a harder time letting go of that item in the garden some how ? LOL
I was out working on the sun border .. longer than I remembered .. or is it I am slower than I remembered ? haha
Girls are good .. Sophie is letting Emma get away with murder .. I don't know how she can stand it (Emma on Sophie's head either cleaning her ears or biting them ... or both !) .. she is a rock ! haha

I was just looking at my assortment of hand clippers this past weekend. They range from the cheepos to high end but I decided that my favorite pair for ease of use and quality are my felcos with the steel spring. Best I ever had.
Nice xmas gift.....

Deb ... you have made me feel guilty about the tools in my part of the shed (I'll not comment on hubby's ?) .. in any case .. mine need some TLC too ! Yikes !
