What makes you stop and look ....

I don't know if the garden is still rich in life because we had a wet summer and this rain "blood" is still pumping through her veins . The yellow rose bud of Morden Sunrise is a surprise to me .. even if it is a little crumpled from the shock of temperature change. It made me stop and look ...
The sedum is almost neon with it's colour .. it reminds me that there is a cultivar called "Neon" that I want to get next year .. you can never have enough sedum ! .. this made me stop and look ...

My Royal Purple Smokebush has measles .. it doesn't have a fever or chills .. perhaps then they are freckles and I misjudged them ? ... this made me stop and look ...
Golden Spirit still attracts me with a vengeance .. it is so pretty I hold a picture in my imagination of how stunning a contrast it will be when it is as large as Royal Purple.
This made me stop and look ....

Just a "standard" Bergenia but what a beauty she has been this Autumn with her squeaky coloured charms .. this made me stop and look ...
This looks suspiciously like a "set-up" to me .. have these leaves conspired to opt for a "pro" photo shoot .. do they expect a fee to be paid for their sneaky yet engenius staging ?
This made me stop and look ..... and snicker ?

When ever the lovely moon comes out ... I have to stop and look ... how can anyone ignore such a heavenly body that surfs the sky so quietly yet with such drama. One year I will invest in a telescope (that lottery is due any time now surely ? ) .. and THEN I will really stop and look throughout the whole sky .. in my pajamas ignoring the neighborhood "howls" ? : )

Many wonderful things that would cause one to pause. :) I loved the way the maple leaf settled so considerately on those leaves.

The camera I have now just does not take decent night time photos of the moon and stars. Or more likely, I haven't figured out how to yet. But I love that dusky end-of-day look. And am appreciating the foliage and leaves, now that the blooms are much fewer right now.

Cindee .. Autumn runs away too quickly for me .. I could savor those wonderful colours and skies so much longer .. we are a like in our appreciation girl ! : )

Deb .. if I ever "bump up" to a camera that can really shoot finer detail to the moon .. I'll be mooning every one for sure girl ! LOL

Gail .. to see the night sky completely covered in those diamonds .. it would be so fantastic for me .. I loved laying on my back on the grass (as a kid .. otherwise now, big ouches ? haha) and looking at a totally covered sparkly sky : )
Yes .................. we have howlers in the neighborhood .. and I'm not talking monkies ... hum .. maybe I am ? LOL

PG .. there goes that mind control mission again .. spending that $10 with on line hypnotisim WORKED !! LOL

Brenda .. that is mother nature's gift to us when she shuts down the bloom factory .. the foliage and the sky jump out at us much more this time of year. Do you know I haven't read my manual ? .. if I did that I might have even better pictures ?? LOL

Hi Nancy .. I think it actually soothes one .. to be able to slow down and look. Even if I am a bit hurried while taking the pictures .. looking at them this way is really relaxing : )

beautiful shots Joy! Love the bergenia, and your smoke bushes make me green with envy.

Beautiful sky shot! Now that the leaves are mostly gone in our backyard, I can see the sky again!

It would all make me stop and look, especially the freckles.

I stopped and looked at your lovely post! I love those photos that look as if you 'helped them along' but are really just the 'natural order' of things! Some of my leaf photos look as if I 'arranged' them too, but I didn't! Stopping and looking is really worth it! Jan

Thank you Cielo ! . I love that moon too : )

Hi Jan .. thanks for stopping by again ! .. it is funny the way leaves behave isn't it ? .. they just drift down and fall where ever they please .. they don't have to fix their make up or rearrange their hair for a photo shoot either ! haha

Tina .. I don't recall seeing those freckles last year .. I wonder if they might be the dreaded "age spots" ??? Yikes !!! LOL

Linda .. it must feel less claustraphobic (spelling is atrocious ... spell check won't work on these bits).. it is just your standard bergenia yet it has been fantastic this year with colour .. and yes ! I love my smokebush bushes/trees ? LOL

Why do gardeners cling like leaves on a branch? Because we all stop in the treasured moment then raise our heads in awe to the awesome heavens ... dancing clouds? The beckoning moon?

Joey .. I think there is some characteristic we all share as gardeners .. respect for life in general but more so from nature itself .. we appreciate it so much : )
