Dave ? Dave ? ... Oh NO !!!!!

It was a dark and stormy sky ............ well, OK ... a bit of sun was poking through the snow clouds .. the wind was howling .... yeah, maybe last night it was .. for sure ! I just knew the Benchwarmers were going to be in trouble with all the snow creeping up on them .. and I was .... RIGHT !

Dave ? ... Dave ? .... are those snow-muffs you are sporting ? ... or are you trying to tell me something ?

Hi there Dave, Gary the gargoyle here. Remember last year when you said I was a wuss for going inside for the winter. Well, I'm outside this year and look for a hello from me soon.

It looks to be about 3 feet of snow. We finally have cold here, no gardening today or this week I don't think. Dave, good idea on the muffs!

Joy, How I envy you, having all that snow! I would like to have some for Christmas as well - we've had rains and overcast skies for ages....

Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Hi Linda & Gary .. I just knew Gary wasn't a wuss if given half a chance to brave the weather .. he will be a better gargoyle for it all ! : )

Tina .. Dave gives you a wink about the muffs .. and to not have snow .. wow .. to keep gardening up to this late in the year .. amazing !

Hey PG .. you are welcome girl ! Just a bit of cabin fever .. which will worsen as the snow season stretches out ? aaarrgghhh !!!!

Hi Frances .. I am in my Betty Boop flannels today .. so yup ! warm and cosy over here : )

Hi Katarina .. I'll trade you right after Xmas with the snow .. then it really begins to get on my nerves ! haha

Hi Cameron .. you are welcome ! Hope Charm is cozy on her nice big beds : )

Patsi ! Yes I know which one you are talking about .. that computer had a very seductive voice didn't he ? .. should be in True Blood some time ? LOL

Oh dear, Dave. Betrayed by the weather on the day winter blows into town! Who could have imagined? Oh yeah, right. Dave.
Stay warm and cozy indoors: this is the longest night of the year. Perhaps a fire for Dave to thaw by...
Happy Winter Solstice!

Aaaahhh! Poor Dave seems to have turned blue from the cold! And... are those little footprints I see walking away from the bench?! Maybe it's time for a bench body count!

Har har har...oh are funny. Thanks for the laugh! The world outside my window looks as white as yours. We had a snowstorm today, which lasted pretty much all day long; the end result is a few inches of snow that we’ll have to dig ourselves out from. Well, at least we’ll have a white Christmas; I do like some snow for the holidays.

Thanks For 2 Day said...

Dave is certainly taking a beating this winter! Joy, you are so funny...I can always stop by here and have a good smile:) Keep warm! Jan

WS !! ... Happy Winter Solstice from the Benchwarmer gang ! .. Dave gives you a nod for your concerns to his health and well being : ) .. an open fire to roast chestnuts by ? maybe a marshmallow or two ? GREAT idea : )

Debbie ... Girl !! why on earth do you not have a gargoyle ?? there just is no excuse at all .. you have to find one and do a post on him !!! I'll be w-a-i-t-i-n-g !!!!

Hi Martha .. we are getting the same weather fronts .. today is clear but high pressure systems give me a heck of a headache .. so this morning is a painful one with a thumping head .. at least the cats are fed and happy ? groan moan

'ben" .. You are right about the footprints ... but it might just be an extra character other than a missing one .. I am highly suspicious of it all !! hahahaha

Jan .. the Benchwarmers usually have something to say no matter the weather .. they can be a very vocal group ! ... and the weather adds its element too : )

Linda ! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you girl !

Hi there! Poor Dave and the benchwarmers! They are real troopers and deserve metals for bravery..."They also serve who sit!"

Have a great week!

hi Joy! Hows winter holding up over there! We've got a lot of snow over here. I should come and see you but im a little too lazy to drive up to kitchener. I havn't gotten out my christmas cards. DOH. I may have to wait until next year. sigh.

Oh my, poor Dave! I do hope you brought him a muffler and some hot chocolate, Joy:)

I scrolled down and thought I was in a time warp! I don't blame you for wanting to see some blooms and green right now; we're covered in ice with below 0 temps. I'm definitely ready for spring!

Have a merry Christmas, Joy!

Poor Dave! The snow is up to my mama Packer ducks' eyeballs now. If you didn't know she had two babies following her you'd never even know they were there.

Merry Christmas! At least WE won't have to dream of a white Christmas, will we? LOL.

GardenJoy4Me said...

Gail .. if i didn't know better I would think you have thrown a gauntlet ? down ? haha .. yes, "those who wait" .. and the Benchwarmers do a lot of that !

Andrea .. if you go to Kitchener who the heck are you visiting there girl ??? haha .. I'm in Kingston silly ; )
Hey .. I posted parcels to the UK mid November and they told me I should have done it in October .. so my friends might get their stuff in February ?? BIG sigh !

Hey Rose .. January is one of my worst months .. it takes for ever to get it over with .. the Benchwarmers hate it too .. they are usually muffled in snow too.
Merry Christmas girl ! Ho Ho Ho

Cinj .. I think we have the market cornered on the white Christmas thing for sure ! .. the little ducks .. ahhhh ! maybe they hibernate under all that snow ?

Wow! -13 degrees on your sidebar temperature! Y'all will certainly have a very, very White Christmas for sure. I do hope that it is very merry. Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving your kind comment.

Happy Holidays!

Charm is wearing her coat when she goes outside. She doesn't like to wear the hood over her ears, so those get a bit cold. She has her big bed (she's never gotten on furniture, but we've tried), 2 fleece blankets and a down blanket. She's snug.

It's going to be 15 here tonight. Guess that's nothing compared to the temps you're getting!

GardenJoy4Me said...

HI Jon .. You are very welcome ! Yes, it is a totally new environment here in Canuck land compared to yours : ) and white it shall be !

Cameron .. Charm sounds well loved and bundled up when it comes to the cold ! : )

Viooltje said...

Oh, poor Dave. Instead of a cloak of mischief, he's well trapped in a coat of white. I can almost hear him mumbling : 'I'll be back!'' Thanks Joy for all of your lovely wishes, I was gonna pop by with an email, but the silly tart that I am, I have lost all of my contacts after reformatting. So when you have the time, drop by with your email addy ;-) For now, I'm stuck in a world of oblivion, just like Dave there!

Wishing you the happiest and merriest Xmas time, and best of luck and health for yourself, and your loved ones, especially those furry wenches!

My beautiful cobalt blue birdbath from Gardeners Supply catalog froze and burst! I was so upset. Had it there for several years, but it usually doesn't get very cold here. Guess I should have thought of the worst case scenario and brought it inside... I feel for the bench warmers.

CIELO said...

Poor Dave! ;)

Merry Christmas and warm wishes from our house to yours.

GardenJoy4Me said...

Violet .. my goodness girl ! I'll pop an e-mail over. I know that can happen .. I have done it a few times myself : ) The furry wenches are snoring right now .. I'll be following soon too ! haha

Brenda .. that is a huge ouch ! .. you just can't tell with the weather .. I have left things out this winter that I normally store .. so I might be right in line behind you with something cracked and broken too .. but you can always be on the look out for a replacement .. right ?

Cielo ! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year back to you too !

Hi There IAG (I'm too lazy to believe .. I know) .. Dave and the Benchwarmers are out of the snow since we had this heat wave .. so I'm going to have to post an "all clear" for them soon !
I loved your story of how you ended up with a camel !! LOL
