Quietly Hanging in the Sky

Yesterday evening before the darkness rolled in and smothered everything. These two clouds struck me .. there wasn't any wind .. they just hung in mid air looking so beautiful. Like huge cotton balls but coloured in such an amazing way .. the bottom darker while working its way to the top, the true fluffy white nature of most clouds we look at.
The quiet contentment of these clouds was actually almost soothing in a way.
Then almost by accident I saw the moon to the right of these .. more distant of course but also the quiet presence just hanging in the sky .. minding its own business looking beautiful all the while.

So quietly beautiful but when looking at all the crater marks .. you have to think of how violent those smashing meteors ? space debris ? must have been colliding with the moon. It all amazes me .. are we due for such a smashing catastrophe as some scientists keep saying ? Will it happen in my life time or in my son's .. rather scary thinking about it all. So I want to switch that thought off and just enjoy the beauty of the moment !

Hi, Garden Joy--what wonderful shots of the moon. I agree, it's scary to think of what causes craters--or our own mountains and canyons--but aren't the results beautiful? Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

Hi Cosmo .. You are welcome ! .. yes the results are stunning .. but the worry is a bit of a "worry" ? LOL .. just kidding : )

Hi Tina .. yes .. that quiet stillness is amazing .. it strikes a cord in us somehow I think.

Hi PG .. I was nicely surprised how well the zoom went too .. it is a fixed lens .. but 18 x optical zoom which is nice to have for some one like me who is always in a hurry ? haha

Great moon shots. Did you finally read the instructions for your camera :)

I always thought the man in the moon had acne as a kid.

I haven't seen the sun or the moon in a good number of days, just a solid wall of gray, so seeing such a pretty sky and clouds is so nice.

Hi Jill .. lord that sounds depressing girl .. those gray days are tough to get through .. keep cruising the blogs and take your mind off of it for a while ? LOL ..

Dear Mr. WiseA** .. believe it or not .. and this is embarrassing to say .. but NO .. I still haven't gotten the manual out yet .. isn't that awful ? I hate not getting to something I said I would .. Good point about the acne ... hehehe .. it would explain a lot ! : )
