I missed IT

I have to say this is the first Halloween Fairy card I have ever seen .. but I do like the cute factor a lot .. especially for the younger kids that see enough of the "that's just wrong" blood and gore type of what some people think is Halloween .. "I pity the FOOL!!!" (in Mr. T's Voice) who thinks only of that type of scenario for my favorite holiday... ugh !!

This is rather "old fashioned" terminology .. OK .. I have to laugh, I was going to skip this one and I forgot and I haven't figured out how to omit a jpeg in a draft without it all going down the toilet too ... and I hope other bloggers have a sense of humour about it, me not knowing how to do the technical side of it all type thing .. can you hand me a bigger shovel please ?
This was me actually ... I posed for this card back in 1920 ....
... and I also climbed a tree limb for the artist in this one as well .. child labor laws weren't invented then ...
I had nothing to do with this guy's bad hair day or the "monkey on the back' routine ...
OK ... back to almost believable ??
The "Fates" tie in to yesterday and the weather not cooperating with me picture wise ...
It was a dark and stormy day when ...........
The sun played peek-a-boo ...... isn't this leaf gorgeous ??? multi-tasking with all the colours ! ... can you tell I have adult ADD ??
Golden Spirit Smokebush ....... ahhhhhhh ! bee-u-T-full !!!
I missed the show .. the full on , proper, Canadian, totally Maple LEAF show with the scarlet reds .. it came and went within 48 hours I am sure .. DRATS !
So ... this is the "GOLD Show" ...
These two pictures may look alike .. but the top one was me perched on my left leg .. the bottom was me perched on my right leg ... a world of difference !!
Both legs were used for this scenario ...
I love that tree leaning towards the water .. I wished I had a clearer picture .. it was perfect ! I swear I think it was waving to me : )

And now for something completely different ....
What can I say ? wheeties ? wheetabix ? what the heck is that cereal ???
Some cat tails needed to be here .... Sophie and Emma would not take "no" for an answer ? can you hear some meowing ?
Green and gold ... is that hard cash or credit ?
This was an amazing tree .... in was in the parking lot of a country church .. they thought we were coming in for the service ... so ... I was FAST taking a picture ;-)
Well .. that is what I was up to yesterday .. poor husband was the chauffeur and I was the camera-woman .. and I still can't believe I missed the full deal COLOUR show ... waaahhhhhh !!!

PS .. if I can't have "scarlet" the next best thing is gold on black ... formal attire ?

I just love all your cards, Joy, quaint word usage and all. People understand that some words had different connotations back then. You were certainly a busy model for all those pictures. I love the jaundiced moon with you and the owl! The leaf color is still wonderful. Some years our maples are more red than others. Love the church in and out! HA You crack me up! :-)

Joy, Your post is a feast for the eyes! And your comments are too funny. Doesn't look to me like you missed anything. The fall color is gorgeous. I especially like the texture of the tree [maple ?] in the last photo.

To delete a photo in draft, I just highlight it, right click and click on delete or press the delete button. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Far be it from me to have these things figured out. :)

I'm a bit ignorant about the autumn colour deal but do you mean to say that the leaves turn red first and then gold? Fascinating! I had no idea...
I thought it was a jumble of colours at the whim of the tree.
Never mind, gold is good too. And yes, I think that tree was definitely peeking at you.

Now that is gold! Joy those golden trees are fantastic! You and Hubby had a great ride in the countryside! You know my dear friend...the post cards are all adorable and use language in ways we no longer do. But that's what makes them so endearing, charming and downright silly. Don't you think? gail

Hi Frances .. yes .. quaint and how society has changed so much over the years .. I'm sure we will be very odd to future generations as well ? haha
Yup .. that parking lot experience was a "hoot" ! haha

Grace .. thank you for shedding some light on how to delete pictures in drafts (I pressed a lot of buttons and said a lot of NAUGHTY words girl ! haha)
My pictures lacked clarity .. I'm still not convinced with this other camera yet .. but at least I did get some and yes .. that is a Maple , I thought it was gorgeous too !!

Hello Sunita ! .. different Maples go different colours and some have all of the colours combined .. but we see drifts of reds and golds .. the scarlets peaked sooner than the golds then with the wind and rain we have had this month (makes me crazy when you wait all year for this) those leaves were torn off the trees sooner than the golds .. every year it is a different story and YES .. whim has a lot to do with it girl !! LOL

Yes Gail girl : ) .. I ran across amazing cards and I tried to organize them (not a smooth process .. must work on that again .. winter project ?)
I have never seen many of these before and of course they fascinate me : )
My higher pixel camera is more for sky images .. I should have taken my trusty reliable older one with me for more clarity .. next year I take BOTH of them with me !! LOL

Cindee girl .. I have had a blast finding these cards that I have never seen before : )

Cat girl .. I thought shredded wheat too .. but there is a cereal that has specific round shapes .. and it is driving me crazy trying to pin point which one it is .. is that sad or what ? LOL

Thank you UG : ) .. hum ? maybe an abbreviation might not be great with Urban Green ? LOL

I love the pumpkin on the Hallowe'en fairy's head, Joy. Too funny! And what's with that weird hole in the pumpkin being driven by rats? Looks like they started to eat it before deciding to take it for a ride instead!!! Thanks for including the cattail shot. I'm sure the girls appreciated it, and I know Linus, Layla and Athena did, too!

Those cards are great. I think the one you tried to delete is pretty funny, the boy sounds a little scary and with the knife in his hand...
I love all the golds in your pictures. I think all that yellow together is really pretty. Looks like you had a great day.

Dear Linus, Layla, and Athena .. we just knew you would appreciate our special touch of cat tails .. signed "the girls"
Get off the key board now 'girls" !
I think a meal or a bite to eat had to e done before they took the pumpkin out on a spin ? haha
I thought the pumpkin hat on the fairy was too cute too : )

Catherine .. I think the 'knife" is actually a play sword kids of that era had then (but I had to look twice too !)Some how my pictures don't fulfill what my eyes saw .. I love all of the colours for Autumn so much and it hits so quickly and disappears even faster .. so lost opportunities bother the heck out of me ? haha

So what? You may have missed the reds, but the golds are eye popping! I've spent the last few days just enjoying it myself, trying to savor every last minute before winter takes over. *shudder* Thanks for sharing your color show, Canadian style!

I have no doubt that cute little girl is you:) The color there is spectacular. I love those maples so much. We have some good coloring on them down here but the one silver maple I have in my yard is not so spectacular. You remind me I need to get my card in the mail to my grandson-then get coffee to start the day. Wednesday already?

There is Wheatabix that is oval, but not round, not sure about that one.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hey Ms Robin .. that is exactly what I do when I'm looking at beautiful trees .. trying to burn them in my memory so I can savor them as long as possible : ) You are welcome !!

Tina girl can you believe it is Wednesday is RIGHT ! where the heck this week is flying to is beyond me .. and there are so many cute cards for kids at Halloween you have a fun time just picking a few out .. now get that coffee girl !
