The Chronicles of Ms. Flame Amur Maple

This morning's sunrise was not exceptional but I had to take a picture because sometimes you need the unexceptional to compare the truly exceptional ?
I just gave myself a headache with such deep and perplexing thoughts ?
Shall we continue ?
Yes .. surprise, surprise a frog has entered the picture .. shocking , right ?
I'm really not a frog person .. right ?
Have you noticed his ball ? .. the one he is jumping from .. get your mind above the topsoil !

I think he has a crush on Ms. Flame .. he seems to want to jump up and kiss her ?
A switch in that old story finally ?
A quick inventory of what lays at her foot .. feet ?
Tiki Torch echinacea .. my heart did beat a little faster when I finally found that sucker !
Lucky Star echinacea .. I just plain never heard of that one before I spotted it !
.. drum roll for a fantastic looking annual grass .. variegated purple fountain grass !
Is that not a fantastic colour ?
To the left I have my huge purple flame miscanthus that is finally set free from the old lilac and I can't wait to see her in full unbound glory : ) after all .. I am an Autumn type of gal : )
Ms. Amur Maple Flame .. aka "Ms. Flame" is out doing herself in growth and finally blocking out my neighbor's house which sits right against our fence, I almost said face .. is that Freudian ? .. at least visually I will soon have some privacy .. I can't do anything about "that voice" aka "nails on chalkboard" type thing.
How gorgeous is that leaf structure ? .. I love her I love her I love her !!! .. yes .. I know .. that sounds rather odd .. again with the mind above topsoil please !!
The light filtering through the leaves show off beautiful red stems ..
The sun sparkles through her arms .. life is good : )

Joy, Ms. Flame is a beauty - kinda like Ginger from Gilligan's Island? ;-)

I love the last photo!

I think your Flame Amur Maple is fantastic. I really like the leaves and the way the sun filters through! All of your plants are lovely. Mr. Frog must be very happy!

Hey Joy, Love the name Tiki Torch!! I had no idea that purple fountain grass is available in a variegated variety! Fantastic! Interesting how Freudian slips can slip into conversation here and there lol. Your tree is gorgeous, and I completely understand the love you have for it, I'm the same with with my maple (crimson king).

Hello there Ms S ! Thank you : )
That is too cute ! Yes she is .. tall and reddish and a knock out ? LOL

Hey there debs ! and thank you : )
She has gorgeous leaves .. we haven't had a really different maple like her so everything fascinates me .. and this frog ? LOL

Rebecca girl .. it was at Home Depot .. and I wanted it last year .. so when i saw it I grabbed it ! Our little Canadian Tire here has Flame Thrower and I am tempted ? haha Crimson King was our very first major tree to plant here .. when we bought this house it was bar .. dead lawn and two dead trees .. I should find those photos and scan them ! ;-)

I can see why you are enthralled with your beautiful maple. I want to hear you cheerfully pulling out all of those seedlings when she decides there have been the right conditions to reproduce. The frog is a cutie.

Pretty right now - exceptional in the fall. And for the neighbours dulcet tones perhaps a motion sensor activated marching band playing device thingie? Dadumdadadum dadum dadum dadum!

Joy, I had no idea you also had a Crimson King!! So, I searched your blog for images, and found we also share the lovely My Monet weigela. So many lovely plant coincidences! :)

Hey Lisa girl I have had lots of practice with seedling pull outs from my Pacific Sunset maple tree .. so there is always a price to pay for beauty no matter how you look at it ? LOL
I love my frog(s) ;-)

Helllloooo there Cindee girl : )
Yup for a one ball frog he is cheerful ! haha .. it is a long weekend here but actually it doesn't feel any different ? LOL

Barbara my goodness now you have me thinking of a marching band every time I hear that voice ! I don't know which is funnier ?? LOL

Rebecca it is funny how many plants we share isn't it ? I still remember that drive home in husband's truck with that Crimson King .. it is one beautiful tree and provides shade in the living room, helping out the AC in these summers .. talk about smothering heat and humidity !
My Monet was kind of a funny incident with end of season sales .. I bought one at half price and then went back the next day and they were being sold for $2!!! can you believe THAT ? haha
