Happy Canada Day !

It has been said that Canadians are patient, polite, good natured people.
I think on the whole that is very true of us .. don't get me wrong .. I think other nations have good qualities too .. but some how Canadians seem to be just right .. maybe that is because I am
CANADIAN EH !
So .. this patient part of us .. I really needed that quality for this beauty to smile at me ..
I have had it for over 5 or 6 years now and each year I would be waiting to see how this gorgeous girl felt about the world ?
Each year I was gifted with ONE beautiful flower .. I thought .. well, one is better than none ?

Then to my utter surprise and pleasure I was gifted with three stunning girls smiling at me this time !
OK .. in these photos number three is shy .. she is going to smile but it takes her a little longer.
An amazing plant that I am so glad I put in all those years for : )
I thought it would be interesting to see the negative side of her .. which to me doesn't exist but here you are .. a cool picture right ?
... then ... it being Canada Day tomorrow .. I thought an embossed sepia picture would be the ultimate birthday card statement .. all of these many years that Canada has been struggling to grow up .. especially with humour and kindness .. two of the best qualities available in my mind .. aside from being a gardener that is !
Happy Birthday Canada ... EH !

P.S. I meant to add a personal touch .. A couple of years ago we did a family tree search. Much to my surprise I found out my father's family emigrated to Canada from Scotland (low landers) in the mid 1700's. I was so surprised it was that far back ! Now I can say we are descended from some of the most original Blue Nose people ever .. Blue Nose is a reference to people who are born in Nova Scotia aka New Scotland !

I had to go look up Canada Day! :-) I thought for sure it would have to do with the French, but was surprised that it had to do with the British.

Lovely blooms, no matter how you look at them!

Thank you Racquel : ) I was astounded to see three flowers smiling at me .. glad I stuck it out !

Martha indeed we are ? LOL
I posted a link I think ? heaven knows what I did for this post because I had an all day garden marathon and I was pooped when I posted this ! LOL
I haven't seen them offered for years now, so I was lucky to get this one : )

Freda girl .. er hum .. it SO TOTALLY does NOT have to do with the "French" aspect .. and quite frankly nor the British in my book (I have no use for still being attached to the British .. )
It really has to do with CANADA .. so ignore anything you have read and just know it is a version of your July 4th celebration only ours is July 1st ! LOL
CANADA Day !! : )

Ms S girl that is so totally TRUE ! and I am so happy as well : )
My fathers family came over from Scotland in the mid 1700's and stayed in the same area in Nova Scotia for literally hundreds of years ! I guess I can say we were some of the first Blue Nose people ? LOL

Thanks Carrie girl : ) I think we are always over shadowed by the BIG American hoopla with their 4th of July thing .. most nations have no idea about Canada Day ? LOL

Happy Canada Day, Joy! Your wait was worth it--she's a beauty! The sepia photo would make a great notecard...perhaps a little sideline business?

So glad you posted your Helenium in the last post. Every year when I see yours in bloom, I tell myself I need to plant this. Once again, I didn't get to it this spring...maybe I had better write this down:)
