Blog Carnival for Fer !

Blogger "fer" from My Little Garden in Japan is hosting a carnival for which we submit one of our favorite garden plants .. this is such a difficult decision to make !
I have been sitting here staring at my garden pictures until I think I am going cross eyed ?
Then I had to think .. what could be almost identified being one of "my" plants .. one that I go on and on about .. and that is when it hit me ..
I have recommended a rose that I absolutely love .. to me it is CANADIAN !
Bred in Manitoba to survive the cruelest of winters and come shining through looking fantastic!
Morden Sunrise Rose !
Tough as nails and GORGEOUS ... she is Canadian EH !! wink wink

Got to love those Canadian roses! As you say they are tough as nails and able to take just about anything nature can throw at them! Best all they can be really beautiful. No wonder this is a favorite!

Joy, that's the type of rose we need around here. Is the name of it Canadian?

Is so nice that you picked on this variety. I think it fits you and your blog perfectly!

Hello there Jennifer!
It would be the absolute PERFECT rose only if it had more scent .. that is something I miss in these ones .. but I have the Shakespeare and Drouhin to supply that for me so I will be a happy camper if they all flourish for next year : ) .. JP Connell is a great one too for that pale buttery colour !

Eileen it was bred in Manitoba so yes .. you identify it's name with that breeding station there .. and I can recommend it without any reservation ! It is a beauty : )

Hello fer and thank you : )so much! This has been a nice little carnival to join .. I really don't do this sort of thing very often but this was short and sweet ? LOL

Great choice - even if you have nicked England's national flower! :)
With the weather conditions we in the UK are currently experiencing there may well be an increased demand for roses that are "as tough as nails"...

Hey there Mark .. yes I just had to steal the glory of the "rose" from the UK ? LOL .. For the first time I actually bought a David Austin rose called William Shakespeare .. now how British can I get ?? I'm not a big fan of the construction of these roses but .. the scent was totally amazing .. sent me back to my childhood where we had an enormous wild rose bush on our lawn ..I just couldn't get over the similarity ! Ergo I am a bit of a rose person , dabbling with what will survive here .. and you may well be VERY right .. lining up for OUR roses !! hehe

Hello Joy, it has been a while! The Rose is new to me but it is a stunner. I must look it up as I am all in favour of tough Roses that don't need pampering.

LC the Explorer roses are outstanding too .. but this Morden one .. well it is too gorgeous to pass up and too easy to care for as well .. you have to have one !

Hi! Your favourite rose is definitely a Canadian. Thank you for the visit so I can follow you back to your wonderful blog. I too love photography but at the moment I am doing it while holding a baby in one arm and a camera in the other hand. Your photos are beautiful.

That is a pretty rose. I only like roses that don't require much from me. Your description as tough as nails sounds like a winner.

Hello again MKG !
Thank you so much : ) .. Now that is a balancing act while taking pictures! .. You must have the touch because I couldn't do that much multi-tasking : )
This hobby is addictive isn't it ?

Hey there girl ! I swear this rose is a very low keyed .. easy to care for rose and it blooms all season right until the frost zaps it !
You have to have one .. you will not regret it : )

Hello p3chanda and thank you so much : ) This has been a fun carnival hasn't it ? : )
