Gray Friday .. as Opposed to Black ?

Well ... what can I really say about today ... gray, gray, and wait a minute .. more GRAY!

There has been a lot of buzz about "Black" Friday on the radio today. I know the "black" only refers to the day most American retailers find themselves in the "black" as opposed to the "red", but it seems like such an ominous name for a simple sale doesn't it? Hope you don't get hit with all the snow they are calling for! Your grey could turn all to quickly to white! Have a great weekend! Jennifer

Joy, we actually had some freezing ice last night that looked like snow, but it was gone by morning.

Hi Jennifer .. I know what you mean about the ominous ring to that Black Friday bit .. especially those years when people were injured and even killed because of the nonsense of the sales going on .. that was just horrible. We had a few flakes but nothing really WHITE staying on the ground YET ? never the less we stored in groceries as if we would be snowed in ? haha .. how funny is that when the grocery store is only a few minutes away?
Have a nice restful weekend girl !

I opted for a "Golden Friday" since it was sunny here. No shopping for me on this day--nothing I want badly enough to go stand in line at 2 AM!

Just read your last post, Joy--love your Christmas urn! I may just copy that idea, if you don't mind. Also, I've been looking for a Shakespeare daylily to add to my collection, but I believe he's about $100! So I might just opt for Will's rose instead.

Good luck to Dave on his therapy sessions.

Hello Eileen girl .. you got caught in between comments here ;-)
We were supposed to get freezing rain but thankfully it passes us and went up to Montreal .. what a mess .. I am waiting to see how my Sportage drives in the snow though .. so mixed emotions on that one ? haha

Rose I think you are SO right about "Golden" instead of black .. it just is too creepy saying black .. not even a Halloween kind of creepy either so that is serious ! haha
you are very welcome to copy my planter .. it turned out better than I thought it would .. last year I had these little porch trees but they just didn't do the job .. but now we have to find the "hiding" wreath for the door !
Yes .. this could be a long therapy session for Dave .. we really have to address this crack problem ;-)

This is how it looked here on Thanksgiving. It was so dreary. Today the sun shines but boy oh boy is it ever cold. Looks like winter has arrived for us all huh? Jennifer has a cute comment in that the gray can surely turn to white fast. We actually woke up to white yesterday and there is still some today. Too early for sure! You have a good weekend.

Joy

Thanks for the Turkey Day greetings.

Good for you on the name change - it works!

And I really don't get 'Black Friday'.. it's strange :^\

Thanks Joy, they are a favored plant of mine. You stay bundled up inside with a big mug of hot cocoa.

Hi Alice and thank you !
I really like the change myself .. more Canadian EH ! .. We seem to be adapting to that Black Friday thing here (not as extreme) but retailers are trying to keep business this side of the border going ! haha Strange all the same .. a better name should be thought up for it.

Tina girl mugs of cocoa are such a treat aren't they ? (once in a while a little Bailey's in it is awesome!) You have to try that some time girl! wink wink

We've had snow today but it is pretty well gone now. Made for a slick morning tho - saw a few people skidding - they never learn to drive the conditions!
Love your little garden ornament!
I'm hoping for a bit of sun the next few days and do a blitz of shadow chasing!
Hope you have a great weekend!
