Leaf, Lines, Layers .. and the Boys

Yes my stubborn tree is still holding on to some leaves still .. I have to admire that .. thus pictures are taken : )
I love the look of the bark with these golden leaves .. bark fascinates me : )
Birds and squirrels are having a blast picking out the seeds of my Sumac .. party on dudes !!
There has been an amazing bright planet greeting me every morning .. I have fallen in love with it .. but I have no idea which one it is ? .. north eastern sky if anyone knows ?

This is as close up as I can get with my lens .. it is simply amazing !
Then pink on pink on pink happened
A very pink jet trail joined in ..
The sky changes so quickly .. literally in front of your eyes .. don't blink !!

I love my early morning times .. the peace and quiet is soul quenching.
A stunning gray blue happened .. with a single "dot" of a bird flying by
This colour scheme makes the day feel very cold .. but it wasn't in fact.
Ah yes .. the first pictures of the old crew back ... center stage .. or is that corner stage .. it may have to be adjusted .. the boys can be FUSSY !
Dave wouldn't face the camera .. he is VERY annoyed with me still .. BIG sigh !

So good to see the boys back in the hood, Joy. I've missed seeing them for awhile--hope Dave has his longjohns ready for the coming winter, though.

You have the most beautiful skies. I'm not sure about your tiny planet, but a month or two ago, Jupiter was closer to the earth than usual. I haven't paid attention in the morning, but at night it was the brightest star in the sky. I'm not into astronomy, but I have that on the best authority--my granddaughter, who's into stargazing:)

Your night shots are so lovely. I like the time sequence. The color just gets more vibrant.

Wow Joy, the blue sky through the leaves in the first picture is truly amazing!! Sorry Dave is upset with you, I know exactly how you feel. Alastair enjoyed a secluded spot all summer, but now that the leaves are gone he is feeling rather exposed. There isn't a whole lot I can do about it...

Hello there Rose girl !
The boys say a hearty THANK YOU for noticing that they were a bit absent this year .. yes, I have to find some decent outerwear for the boys for sure!
My husband thought it was Jupiter as well .. it has been so amazing and so absolutely beautiful to be greeted each morning by it : ) I am a wannabe start gazer .. one day I might just get a telescope and pretend to be working for SETI ? LOL

Thank you so much GWGT : ) I am so lucky to have such beautiful skies here .. it would be heaven to be right next to the lake here but I take what I can get and make good use of it : )

Rebecca girl hello there ! Thank you : ) .. Yes .. Dave and I have had bumps in the road .. I really should have addressed that crack problem this summer .. Poor Alastair sounds a little shy and loves a secluded space for himself .. or perhaps a companion ? They do have their ways about them son't they ! ;-)

Well hello there Joy girl. What beautiful sunrise pictures. I love the pink trail. The Boys will get over it. Their glad that Halloween is over and they can get some attention and Dave is glad he will get his crack fixed. LOL! That may not sound just right. LOL!

The boys have come together for the winter just like snowbirds. Nice winter skies. Try to keep warm.

You always capture beautiful vignettes. Thanks for the update on the boys...lol :) Your comment you left on my blog isn't showing up under the post for some reason.

Joy, that tree is lovely. I like to look at bark also and sometimes I think something is wrong with the tree when it is just the way the bark develops.

That sky still looks a little spooky, I guess it is just a November sky.

Hello there Lona girl ! .. and thank you : ) Yes the boys have had a bit of a grumble .. and I can't blame Dave about the crack issues .. and YES .. it sounds too funny doesn't it? .. Dave and his crack has been an on going problem we really have to get a handle on ! hehehe

Lisa girl .. how true is that ! They are the boys that think they are birds ? hehe .. got the flannel pajamas on and the fireplace has been cleaned ! now for hot chocolate and marshmallow times ?!!

Beautiful moody November skies. My favorite is the shot with the pink jet stream. Sorry to hear about Dave's crack- weather extremes can be brutal!

Joy, I think you said it best when you said, "soul quenching". That is exactly what those quiet times are when we connect with nature and the deeper cycles around us.

You have a poet in your spirit. (I just hope he's cute!! hehe) ;-)

Eileen girl your comment was hiding ! LOL .. Yup , bark is so interesting .. my Amur Maple "Flame" has some wonderful bark to look at too .. and as our trees age it just gets better and better ! .. Still a little Halloween left in these skies yet right ? hehehe

Jennifer some mornings the sky is completely PINK and it is awesome .. you just can't tell how a sky is going to turn out some mornings .. this crack issue can be quite a cranky problem for Dave ;-)

Ms S .. it makes such a profound impact on me when I have those times in my little garden (even though we have a neighbor stacked right up against our back fence .. I pretend she isn't there until she drives me nuts with that voice) .. sorry I wondered off topic ! hehehe
Hum .. you may be right .. a resource that is rather tricky ? LOL .. "he" better be good and cute!

Stunning November sky photos, Joy. Your blog has a warm and lovely feel. The bright 'star'/planet might be Venus, the evening star now the morning star. The bright ’star’ in the south sky around 7 to 8 p.m. on is planet, Jupiter. Warm November hugs.

I love the Boys! It's going to fun seeing them throughout the holiday season. Your sky shots are quite beautiful, Joy, and show your love of early morning beauty and quietude. I've been remiss in visiting my gardener friends; it's nice to be here again.

Dave and his crack issue ~ 2 funny! LOVE the pictures ~ and isn't it something just how FAST the sky can change. Great series you shot. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Joey girl and thank you very much : ) .. it has been a spectacular "star" in the sky no matter which one it is .. I have really enjoyed watching it !

Christine girl that morning shot on the beach over at your place was absolutely stunning .. I would love to live in your area just for that option alone ! haha .. Yes the boys and Dave can get up to some antics even though they keep 'straight" faces about it all ? wink wink

Hello there mel and thank you !.. Dave can have some very touchy issues at times .. so it can be a sensitive subject for him ;-) I try my best but sometimes maintainability of his problems , well .. as I said .. TOUCHY ! hehehehe .. A solid YES ! to how fast the sky changes .. I have to literally stand there and follow through with it ;-)

I love the new header picture, Joy. That's my garden, too, just waiting for spring. I like the new background - I just switched mine up, too.

Hello Linda girl and thank you very much : ) it just seems to go hand in hand with gardening doesn't it ? Some thing to keep us northerners sane during the winter months ? haha

Hello there VW and thank you : ) It is becoming a wee bit easier to switch and swap pictures and backgrounds .. or should I even say that ? I might jinx myself now .. eeekkkkk ! haha
