Seconds of Pink & Passions

I don't know if other sky fanatics are finding this .. but I have not had a gorgeous sunrise in so long it is beginning to impact my "sky-brain" .. withdrawal .. yes .. I have to mention it all over again because I swear this is setting a new record !
This pink sky lasted literally ? less than minutes .. and if I hadn't have been there just at the right time I would never have known it actually occurred !
Yes .. I have to show off my dragonfly shadow one more time .. it gives me comfort some how ?
My daughter-in-law's present, the South Carolina Wren, from last Christmas, is just so pretty with this simple brown sedge .. I think it brings out the myriad of browns and coppers in its hair? wink wink
I have to mention that this dear daughter-in-law gave me the most wonderful Christmas present this year (yes .. just let me brag a tiny bit ?) .. She made a calendar with wonderful sayings, and beautiful quotes, paired with my own pictures from my blog.
It was just such a surprise and I am in awe of it still !
Thank you once again Linda : ) it is perfection !
Now for nonsense .. each year as the snow and ice comes and goes .. ebbs and tides? on the deck planking a funny thought occurs in my head watching it .. I think of it as winter's TOES ! ;-)
Ah yes ... a gratuitous cat picture of my girls squaring off with their "tail-wrestling" ...
Even though it looks like Emma is winning .. her tail is longer and fluffier .. Sophie is not to be fooled with .. she can whip her tail into action and slam the fluff-butt down any time she wants to! wink wink
These two are not delicate little fur balls .. they are BIG cats !!! or so they think so ??

I love your winter toes photo. I'm sure your calendar is gorgeous, what a lovely thoughtful gift. No snow again today, yipee! And you are right, there haven't been any wonderful sunrise or sunset phtos lately. I'm sure there will be lots to come.

I get frustrated when there isn't a nice sunset for a while. I see nice sunsets more often because 1) there is a house and trees blocking the east view from the house, whereas there is a nice, clear view to the west; and 2) I am not a morning person, so in the summer the sun has often risen considerably earlier than me!

Those are very nice pictures.

Hi Linda, yes it is one fabulous Xmas gift : ) It does seem to be one very dull winter (although the lack of storms and snow is appreciated !)
I'm hoping we will see some nice skies soon too !

Hello there RP and Thank you !
.. it is so frustrating when you think the sky is beginning to loosen up and sparkle and then bang .. it is gone ! .. I am a morning person I have no choice ? haha

Ms S we haven't really been in winter mode very long and I am complaining big time already ?? LOL
Yes .. those toes are just too in my face to ignore ? hehehe

By the way, you'll probably like the pictures in my most recent post. Our snowstorm finished up in time for some nice photos.

Wonderful pictures and I love sunrises over Lake Ontario. I can see the sky changing from my office window.
Within minutes I am the shoreline to take pictures.
It is beautiful and peaceful place to walk and to enjoy. Today I saw red foxes in the woods and Red -tailed hawks looking for food.
The cats looks very comfy:)
- Cheers from Guildwood.
Happy New Year,
Gisela.

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog and nice to encounter another sky fan. I'm also a fan of Canada!

There has been a dearth of pink skies, but I'll be posting a good sunrise from Boxing Day for this week's Skywatch.

Love your 'toes'!

Joy, it's always a treat to see things through your creative eyes. Love the "winter toes." It's been warmer here the last two days, and the snow is melting, exposing a big, sloppy mess. I think I have more than toes in the garden--whole skeletons, maybe:)

Sounds like your Daughter-in-law is a sweetie--what a nice gift! Hope Santa brought lots of treats for the girls...wishing you a Happy New Year!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Rose girl thank you so much !
I can understand the whole skeleton thing with old man winter playing in the garden. We are due for actual RAIN and then a drop in temps so you have to know that is NOT a good thing right ? .. especially for the garden babies getting the wrong MESSAGE !LOL
Hey .. Have a Wonderful New Year !! Rose and I look forward to reading your posts : )

We have snow here, and most of all, COLD air...I'm actually ready for such events, though, it being nearly year's end. At least the days are now getting longer...day by day.

I hope you had a great Christmas, Joy, and here's wishing you and your family (especially the furgirls) a healthy and happy New Year!

Scary in fact because you just know "it" is coming ? ... eeekkkk !

Thank you Whimsy !! and the best of New Years to you way over there : )

Thank you Rebecca girl : ) that shadow does seem to have some magical quality doesn't it ? Happy New Year : )
