Shadow Shot Time

It is "Shadow Shot" time here in the Great White North .. and at the moment this morning it is becoming WHITER as I type here .. but that is what it is supposed to be like .. so no complaining until next month when Cabin FEVER starts to hit!
I was lucky to have a sunny day and catch some shadows in the back garden .. these are long looking beauties and it was only mid morning .. sort of plays with your senses a bit ?
I love how the patio bricks show up so beautifully .. plus the fact I remembered not to walk on it, messing it up before I got this picture in ?
My beautiful bench brings a softer side with its curls and curves in this white world along with the fence and it's pattern .. you can't ask for much more, can you ?
The trees and this obelisk looked rather inviting as well .. so I had to include them didn't I ?
Tracy over at Hey Harriet is the head on her shoulders gal who rounds up us "Shadow Shooters" so you really have to have a look at the collection there to enjoy many more from all over the world : )

The addition of snow allows for a beautiful canvas for shadows. That is, when the faint southerly sun is shining above the horizon. I am not a fan of this cold, but shadowy snow has its charms :>)

Thanks for the comment - small kids and Christmas is quite a mix. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I love the way the pattern of the brick is transfered through the snow, neat!

OOOH! I especially like the top shadow because the background is textured snow caused my bricks. Really, really NICE!

The first one is so pretty with the shadows! I do wonder how people manage to walk on snow without slipping over. I've never walked on snow but I bet I'd fall on my butt should I ever attempt to!

PS - Yes I have often thought that the netting on those swimming enclosures would be quite easy for a big shark to munch through! Have yourself an awesome Christmas :)

Hello Sylvia : )Thank you so much and have a great weekend plus Christmas coming up !

Hello Ralph and yes you are so right about the strength and angle of the sun .. it makes quite a difference with shadow shooting : )
Hope you and your family have a great Christmas !!
PS .. nothing like little kids to make us feel that way again ? LOL

Hello Martha : ) I thought the same thing too .. the brick pattern sold me on taking that shot !
Thank you for your note and I hope for the best with help for Michael and your family : )

Hi there EG and thank you : ) .. I really have to slow my eyes down at times to SEE what is truly there to shoot !

Kristy hello ! and thank you : )
This dinner guest had a great time : )

Hi chubskulit and thank you very much : )

Tracy girl you have made me giggle here : ) Snow isn't the slipper culprit .. it is the ice .. and black ice in particular that is very naughty causing a lot of slipping from people to vehicles !
Yup ! that is what I thought about a determined shark too ! haha

Hello Hootin Anni : ) thanks for stopping by and I will be right over to see your shadow shot !

Joy, you have inspired me to go out in my snowy garden and look for some shadows from my structures.

Well, the only other thing I'd ask for is a thaw in between each snow fall, sometimes I get it, but Farmer's Almanac says this is gonna be a cold one for the Heartland...ARGH!!!

Have a sunny Sunday at least!!! Stay warm!

Eileen girl : ) I am sure you will find some unique shadow treasures in your garden !

SW : ) I think the Almanac is most probably right .. winter toyed with us a while , now she is going to get serious ! LOL

It was clever to not walk on that lovely brick pattern until you took that picture - the bench looks gi-normous! Very pretty shot!

GT thank you ! That is what it looked like to me as well .. a world of its own .. it fascinated me : )

SKG : ) hello there ! and you are the first to comment on that (remembering NOT to walk on it before I took the picture .. I almost did ! haha) Thank you : )
