Shadow Shot Time !

This is grabbing at straws ... having to mull over my archive pictures to pick an interesting shadow shot .. cabin fever is setting in and the "loony bin brain" is building up .. but alas I am off topic ?
This is a "Toad Lily" just starting out, mid summer .. caught with these rain drops .. in half light and half shade .. what could be better ?
We are in WHITE aka SNOW mode here. So looking at something peacefully green, is rather soothing .. here I am staring at it ... OOPS ! I have to actually post this !
Now .. if you want to stare at some wonderful shadow shots from international Shadow Shooters? .. head over to Hey Harriet, where Tracy is having our weekly get together : )

Hehehe! It's nice to see the GREEN in your shadow shot.

Luckily I have been out and about so I don't have cabin fever at the moment...but I have been long awaiting the breaking up of clouds so the sun could shine through! :) And guess what! The sun is shining today!
YAY!

Oh, I do so know where you're coming from!! Sun??? What's that?? The Looney Bin is just a step away! But I love your shadow shot for the day! Brings back lovely memories of warmer weather! Someday again, yes???
Enjoy your weekend, stay warm!

Love the dew drop s on the leaves :-) Ps Is "warmfly" and editing option? I have never heard of it :-)

The warmth of the summer allows us to remember what warm weather greens looked and felt like. Instead of the normal white of these days...

Spring will reappear again. And beautiful captures like this wil be the norm and not the exception...

Delightful shot from your archives, and I don't blame you for going stir-crazy. We have increasing winds and blowing snow here. The snow is coming in at an angle, and the flakes are the big fat kind I'd like to photograph but I'm not going out there, not even onto the porch.
My shadow shots are all archival, too.

Sweet little toad lily. I like it, Joy. The days are getting just a bit longer and soon we will be out in our gardens again!

It is a pretty shot even if it is out of season.

What gorgeous plants - especially the lovely flowers in your header! Great shadows! I do that sometimes - look back at summery places when snow fever takes over!
take care!

Joy, don't laugh but they are calling for snow north of here in Dallas tomorrow...going to dip into the 20's here! Everything that has lived to this point I'm afraid will be gone by Monday afternoon...the funny thing is there were butterflies and hummingbirds just yesterday!

Very pretty! With all the rain I've been having of late I've been looking at past photos that contain sunshine. I'm fooling myself into thinking if I look at them long enough, hard enough, they may come to life. Presto sunshine! As I said... I'm fooling myself ;)

The only certainty with the crazy weather is that it always changes. So we can look forward to better days :)

Have a great week. Rug up!

EG I am very jealous of your sunshine .. when the sun does come out here .. we all scurry and reach for sun glasses because we are SO NOT used to seeing it for weeks lately !
Cabin fever can be tricky .. it can sneak up on you so look out ;-)LOL

Hi Sylvia : ) You are so right that bringing back some "summer" into my life HELPS ! .. the count down is on for Spring but in this tiny spot of the world who knows when exactly and what quality ? hehehe

Linda girl how are you ! thank you : ) I love these tulips and I have not been able to find them last season to have more of them smiling in Spring .. they were gorgeous and I'm afraid not replenishing them, that I won't have as many looking so pretty. Glad to cheer you up girl!!

Hello Clipppy : )and thank you ! Warmfly is an option on Picasa along with sepia, BUT it is more subtle and I was seeing the huge difference as soon as I looked at pictures done both ways .. I don't know what other program has it since I combine my ACDSee and Picasa and haven't tried any others.
If you can find it .. TRY it ! and you will see the change : )

Ralph thank you so much : ) We really need to hang on to that green thought and hold on until SPRING ! Being a gardener it impacts me like mad having to put up with the snow .. but alas I am a Canuck and it should be second nature ?? LOL

Hello Juliet and thank you : ) Yes .. different degrees of green plus rain drops does make it stand out a little more !

Kay thank you : ) and I can almost hear the owling winds you have!
I love to try and capture snow fall too but with winds like that .. nope ! not going to happen ! haha
Bundle up girl !

Christine girl .. there I go thinking OOPS ! I haven't been to your place in a while (totally drained of brain cells lately).. I look for earlier morning light .. that is what makes the huge impact on me during this season .. sneaking out in the garden when it is quiet and no one is up ? LOL

Thanks Donna .. I need some GREEN!!

Hi Bev and thank you ! We need those warm season pictures to get us through cabin fever in the GWN! don't we ? eeeeeekkkkkkk!!

OMG ! Whimsy ! I am not laughing because that would impact your beautiful garden and those delicate creatures .. and there is nothing we can do about the weather right ? we just have to grit our teeth say a few unmentionables under our breath and hope for the best ! I really hope it doesn't get that bad for you !

Harriet girl I felt sorry for you with those pictures .. some summer you have been having eh ? But like you said it has to change some time and you might get a bit of summer yet ? fingers crossed !!

I love the sunlight filtering through the garden onto your plant.

Mine this week is a heron casting its shadow near the marina.
