Shadow Shot Time !

I'm reaching back again for something with OUT snow .. BTW .. it is snowing here .. again ........
This was a shot I took late summer of "Eupatorium rugosum Chocolate" aka Chocolate Snakeroot .. the chocolate part sounds great right ? but mixed with "snake" not so great ;-(
It is a beautiful shrub like plant .. dark foliage, delicate white flowers which makes it a great shadow shot I think , for a garden plant !
Mean while back at Tracy's .. at Hey Harriet .. you can see all sorts of interesting light and dark play, that other shadow shooters have captured .. go on .. you know you want to see them !!

Snowing here too. Yesterday would have been a great day to take more photos and even search for an elusive shoot. Errands to run, so just some images around town. I too have resorted to the look back. Maybe time to join a few memes so I don't have to think so hard for a topic or content! LOL.

Gorgeous capture and it has to be more cheering for you to look at than more SNOW!!! We surprisingly have sun today, but it is windy and chill. You can be sure though that I will brave the wind and chill just to get out and hopefully get some sunny captures for a change!! Hope you have a great weekend anyway! Stay warm!

Beautiful digital chiaroscuro! I grow and love that plant, and your photo is a wonderful capture.

The flowers are wonderfully puffy, the 3-D shadows falling off each bud very nice. The look of warmth is all over, we await Spring with a fervor to enjoy it all, after it arrives...

Hello there Donna !
Yes girl a meme or two is useful in winter like this .. I really enjoy shadow shot time : ) This morning (Sunday) it is a very clear but cold start to the day : )

Hello there Millie : )Spring is it's most stubborn this time of year .. false starts etc .. drive us a little crazier because we just can't wait to see LIFE in our gardens !!

Sylvia girl hello there and thank you ! Yes when it is sunny it drives us out the door to capture some great shadow shots .. keep warm girl !

Hey thank you gardeningasylum ;-)
Love that name ! Yup this is a must have in the garden for sure : )

Ralph thank you : ) This last stretch before Spring will settle down(and leaves so quickly!) is the hardest to get through .. fingers crossed it is an early one !

'kitchengirls thank you : ) I don't know how I would get through winter without pictures of the garden to brighten my attitude during these long dark months !!

Thanks Cassie girl have a great one too !!

EG thank you : ) isn't it weird that so many plants have such strange common names ? I wonder who got to chose them ? LOL

Even the higher elevations in the San Francisco Bay area had a sprinkling of snow the other day - but not me, just a few miles from the Pacific....but it has really been cold...though the gorgeous yellow tree in bloom that I have on my header was taken just a few miles from my home the other day.

Hey Carmen I just saw that beautiful yellow tree in your header and it really has the wow factor ! great shadow shot of the martini glasses too : )

When you're overwhelmed by snow, the only thing to do is reach back!

A PARFAIT DAY

A seeker of shadows one day
Did trip as she went on her way;
She picked herself up
And dipped from a cup
Of shadowy lemon parfait!

We had a thunderstorm this morning, that was thrilling, along with the heavy downpour...geesh...what next! Temps are dropping as we speak, but it was so wonderful to get out with the dog and chase the stick, she's gotten rather roly poly this winter...guess we both better chase the stick a little more regular...come on spring!!!

Beautiful photos! Love your cats :)

Hello Miss Becky .. Thank you very much !
Spring is usually quit a mixed bag of weather teasing us for weeks before she really touches ground .. especially HERE ;-)
It does have a fragrance but right now I can't think of what it is like .. duh ? usually I have a great memory for plant scents good and bad.
It is a later blooming plant for the Autumn and husband likes it very much which is nice to hear ;-)

MMT thank you : ) Now I will picture parfait for days ! and lemon ? one of my absolute favorites ! LOL

Sharon girl how are you ! ah a thunderstorm .. now that definitely a sign of progression with Spring .. as is the back and forth temp swings .. aggravating but essential? ;-) a BIG yes to getting roly poly over winter .. we and the cats are in such a state too .. but the treadmill has been in use .. phew ! chasing sticks would be more fun ??? LOL

Hello Rebecca and thank you very much .. the "girls thank you too!wink wink

Thanks Christine : )
I think you should be able to grow this snake root .. it's foliage is gorgeous blue green with dark veining and underside .. really pretty shrub!
Butterflies like it too so that is a bonus ;-)
