Combine Shadow Shot and Spring Signs ?

The morning of the 18th was BEAUTIFUL !!
I finally have NO snow on the deck so this is the bare bones shadow shot for today .. clean simple lines : )
Visit Tracy's Place at Hey Harriet for more great shadow shooting : )
The moon that night was amazing ... tonight's moon is supposed to be even better .. scroll down to see how it all began ?

It is hard to believe my camera can reach up to the sky and grab the larger ones from this tiny dot hanging here ?
That morning had a wee bit of colour but not spectacular .. but still, the sky was different !
Almost a monochrome setting ?
Rather dramatic right ?
Our "Robinator" is so noisy defending his territory we could hear him even in the dark telling other birds to "flock off" hehehehe

Ahhhhhhhhhhh !! at last signs of life ... I am a happy gardener : )

I'm doing the "Spring" dance !

I like those moon and sky photos. The sumac in the previous post was beautiful - sorry I didn't post over there.

The robin is so detailed that it reminds me that I need to get a better camera. I had a high quality one, but sadly it just stopped working.

I'm starting to see stuff growing as well. It's unusually early - I think all the snow actually insulated the ground and made it a little less cold. Ironic that very heavy snow makes for an early spring!

I am doing the dance too! Those photos of the moon are spectacular!

Robins and crocus sprouts, it has to mean spring. I love the boots girl! LOL! Great header. Have a wonderful weekend.

Fantastic photos of the moon. I heard this morning about it being a 'super' moon tonight but not sure if we'll be able to see it as it's clouded over today. At least I got to see through your lens anyway.

Hello there Darla girl : )
It is going back and forth a bit but I think eventually Spring is going to win ? LOL .. PHEW !!

Hello RP and thank you : )
My camera is actually my third Olympus .. you sort of get "stuck" on one type when it 'fits" you ?: )
It is an SP-59OUZ with 26x optical zoom, which was the reason I bought it .. there is a new one out with a 30 something zoom but I read the reviews that "still" pictures aren't as good .. I don't do videos so I want my still pictures to look right .. but this baby can have temper tantrums too .. so I have to have all the right moves for it to produce well.
Hey i have to visit over at your place and see all those greens coming to life too ! and yes it is ironic but I'm for what ever works eh ? LOL

Eileen thank you : ) I'm dancing still ? LOL

Thank you Barbee' and YES !
Join in this funny dance us "northerners" do when winter unlocks us ? those robins are a bossy lot aren't they ? haha

Lona I couldn't resist this header .. I loved my shoe-booties for working in the garden so they just had to be a header : ) Yup Spring is dipping her toe in !
have a great weekend and watch for that super moon : )

Marguerite thank you so much !
I am going to try and capture the moon tonight too .. we are supposed to have clear skies with a bit of scattered cloud .. but hopefully all the elements will be with me ? LOL

They say 16 % bigger but I can't tell.
You've got life...yay.
Robins are a good sign.

The feeling of Spring arrives for us in a subtle way - not just minus the snow, but the more blue sky, longer days and birds around us accent the season we are soon to see.

The moon is closer than usual these days, bigger and brighter up close and even at a distance away. All in all, the sky and the land proclaim that Spring is nigh!

Nice clear shadows on your deck. I'm looking forward to seeing the moon tonight.

What a fabulous series of shots. I love the first monochrome sky one: the lines, light and shade sort of like tendrils across the sky - simply beautiful.
Very impressive moon shots too!

Oh sweet terra firma, how we've missed you so and isn't it glorious, even with the super frosts in the morning, it doesn't take long to thaw. Boy, this is what we gardeners live for eh...and BRING IT ON MA NATURE...we're ready to roll!

Have a great Sunday my Northern neighbor!

Love 'em all. But, since we have no robins in our southern area of the coast, I thought those photos of the beautiful feathered friend was supreme. A real treat.

With no snow on the deck, you must feel as though you are in heaven--finally!

SHADOW SINGER

Of shadows an old man did sing;
He chanted in Guelph and Beijing;
The shade was his friend,
He loved it no end—
It made him feel rich as a king!

GT thank you ! There is nothing more romantic than the moon is there ? .. especially reflecting on water .. but I have to make do with the sky! but it is a beauty!

Patsi girl we didn't get to see the moon last night but when it did turn the corner husband said it looked the same so why it is supposed to be bigger i have no idea .. darn it ! haha

Ralph, you are so right ! The birds especially .. the poor little souls sing so much more when Spring is moving towards us .. and the sky is different .. all in all I am so glad to see the changes finally : ) But the moon escaped me last night ;-(

Hello chubskulit ! thank you : )

Thank you Ms. Burrito : )

EG thank you and I was so hoping to get even better pictures last night of the moon but it shifted it's position and I couldn't capture it darn it all !!

Sue thank you so much .. I couldn't help but post a lot of pictures that made me happy Spring is trying to break the barrier and finally kiss us ? LOL

Hey Sharon how true is that and thank you ! Yes the frosty mornings are a bit nippy but a sunny day makes up for it and the possibilities of garden clean up is NOT a chore but makes me so happy : ) Have a great day in your garden too girl !

Thank you Cynthia those bulbs are being joined by so many others now it is totally exciting : ) Nothing better than seeing that to lift the old winter mind set : )

Anni girl thank you so much and glad you like seeing our robinator .. he is quite a character .. i am trying to visit blogs in between getting out and getting some garden clean up done too .. the rain is coming soon : )

MMT how true is that feeling !
I love your shadow ditty here .. it will play in my head all day now ? hahaha

Wow, looked like we were going to have Spring much earlier than you, but I've seen no robins yet and it was so cloudy Saturday night, we saw no bright moon! On top of that, my yard is still full of snow, but meltiing slowly. Started my motorcycle, that's the real sign of Spring for me. Great shots Joy!

Peace

Thanks Joe : )
Hey .. I didn't get the "great" moon last night myself .. it shifted its position so much from the night before I couldn't believe it .. we are also due for snow this coming week .. so all the head way we made will be blanketed again ? but that is the GWN for you .. just one big tease!!
Glad to hear you have the thrill of the cycle roaring for you ;-)
Enjoy !!

Beautiful moon, beautiful skies, beautiful little robin--did that cover it all? Very nice shots. Mickie

Lola said...

Great pics. Didn't look for moon as I have trouble sleeping when it's full. Been that way for 17 yrs. since my DH passed.
More snow, huh?!!!! Thought you was ready to start planting. When do you plant "taters"? Mines up & looking good. Trying that "tater" bag to see how it will do.

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hello Mickie and yes you did cover it all ! LOL Thank you : )

Hello Lola .. I missed what was supposed to be a super moon .. it didn't return to the same position it took when I grabbed these pictures .. drats ! .. I can't plant anything in the garden until the soil warms up and that will be at least another month .. I don't do veggies other than loads of herbs and maybe a cute tomato in a pot if I push it ? haha

My, my, what dramatic shots you have! You've got a great eye to capture those images on a great camera.
Happy Spring!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Aerie-el ! How are you : )

I missed the "super moon" it changed its position the very next night so that was a bust .. oh well there is always the next time?haha ..
