Shadow Shot Time

I love our Morning Doves .. they are so quiet and peaceful and lovely to look at : )
They don't even mind if you are taking pictures of them .. in fact I think this one asked if her/his posture and pose were flattering ? .. and I am sure I heard some humming of "Me and My Shadow" !
So this is my shadow shot including the reflection in the water of the birdbath .. thankfully it is fairly clean at the moment ! eeekkk !
Now .. I have to sneak in some FOG shots .. and it was thick fog this morning .. it is beginning to burn off now and the birds are VERY chirpy about it all !
Yes .. that tiny white ball is our sun .. not a UFO .. drats .. we have seen some strange things in our sky here over the years ... but that is another whole "Twilight Zone" story .. and I don't mean that vampire c--p !!
I have some ornamental bird cages in my deck plantings so it was neat to see it against the background .. I have to humor our birds .. they have delicate feelings and like to be mentioned as much as possible ... and have a few statues dedicated to them besides gargoyles and gnomes ...
Go figure ??
Finally .. the finale ? I am probably burning my eyes out taking direct shots like this but it was so amazing I am trying to get away with it .. a perfect white ball hanging in the sky is something to see, against the shear cloth of the fog covering it ...
Now you have to head over to Tracy's place .. Hey Harriet .. to see more great shadow shots from all over the world : )

What a beautiful visitor! I always thought they were 'Mourning Doves'? Could be wrong, Morning is much happier! :)

Oooooooooooh, great shots! I love it when the morning doves visit my yard. Excellent sun in fog shots, almost looks like the full moon we had the other nite.

That's a perky little dove!

I ONCE HAD A SHADOW

I once had a shadow—or did she have me?
My shadow and I could never agree.
I would say something, she’d say the reverse;
Our arguments flared, my lips I would purse,
Refusing to speak to her anymore—
So my shadow got up and marched out the door!
I have not seen her from that day to this—
That’s one stubborn shadow I surely don’t miss!

Great shadow shots.
The fog pic looks like our skies from the smoke from so many fires around.

Oh your little dove friend is so sweet! I hardly ever see doves where I am. Just lots of pigeons! Your foggy shots are super! Especially that last one. Wear sunnies so you don't harm your eyes :)

Mourning doves are sweet birds. I like to watch them when they are courting. Their colors ignite and they are so ceremonial. Lots of dancing and prancing about. I am sure your plants liked all that fog too. It feels so good on a warm summer morn.

Morning doves seem to be gentle birds, I'm sure they chirp or something but can't remember hearing them.
Clever shot at the birdbath.

Speaking of Twilight...just saw that movie. NOW I'm waiting for TB!

Joy, your garden is as neat as a pin - I'm going out to scrub things down just as soon as the rain stops. Lovely to see your M. doves - not so many here now, fear those neighbourhood kitties have been hunting - found that they aren't those most clever of birds sadly - remember our old Tom cat 'Dirt Bag' who had one fly into his mouth - didn't know what hit him at first(the second little slap was me, when I turned him upside down and made him spit it out).

Great shadow shots, Joy! I'm a huge lover of doves. They are nesting in the tree near the deck and I enjoy how they spy on us while we're enjoying our morning coffee.

Barbara girl you are too funny ! You made me giggle and snort at the same time .. hehehe .. we have rain here for the next few days so I can't quite vacuum and dust the garden for a while ? hehe .. my god ! Yes mourning doves are a wee bit daft aren't they ? I love that crazy cat name by the way and the slap to make him spit the poor thing out ? LOL
You are a crazy lady girl ;-)

Kate girl thank you and I love how peaceful they are too .. but yet so curious and love watching us as we do them .. they are sweet but not the sharpest pencil in the desk ?LOL
