Shadow Shot Time

My privacy ivy shielding us from opposite ends of the deck becomes an amazing sight in the Autumn.
A plant "rainbow" of gorgeous colours that I really look forward to seeing.
There are shadows dancing  among the leaves throughout the day ... changing constantly, which makes it a different show all the time .. now what more could you ask of it ?
Tracy down under on a totally different continent and opposite season has us shadow shooters also constantly changing our view points on hunting for shadows .. so visit her blog where she gathers us altogether to flaunt our shadow art at Hey Harriet !

The little red leaf looks lonely. Just love all the fall colours poppin up. Did you make the pumpkin designs? I have never seen anything like the painted and decorated white ones - love them!

The autumnal season is one of change - gradually the weather changes course, the colors being altered by the changing angle of the sun. The ivy is a lovely hue, a shade darker than dusty rose, a subtle color. The outdoor gardening phase of the year is about up - but e hang onto the warmer weather at least in spirit...

I'd say your ivy is even more beautiful in the dying stage than when it's green and lush!

SHADOW, SHADOW
(With apologies to William Blake)

Shadow, shadow lurking dark
In a corner of the park,
What immortal eye can see
Your transcendent symmetry?

Hi Joy! I just love what happens to ivies this time of year. Several buildings at my old university were covered in ivy and I just loved them in the fall. Nowadays it's mostly just the front of a downtown Sherlock Holmes pub covered in ivy that I get to enjoy! lol Love yours!

Very nice. I need to know what kind of ivy this is. If it grows in your climate, it will grow in mine. I need something to grow over an arbor.
Great shot too! I've been under the weather. Seems like when the warm sunny stuff left, it left me some sickness. I've been laying low these days. Hope all is good with you.

Peace

Hello there Lisa girl and thank you very much ! happy SSS back attcha' girl ;-)

Miss Kodee .. your photographs were stunning .. I wish I could take pictures like that : )
No , sadly I did not make those pumpkin designs .. I find them on the net and capture them for Halloween mania ? LOL They are gorgeous though aren't they !

Dear Ralph
I love this time of year .. but the weather has been so darn menopausal .. a bit too warm last week and now wind and rain ripping the beautiful leaves off the trees before I get a chance to photograph them .. BIG sigh !
Loved the vintage car show on your post !!

MMT .. you could very well be right ? LOL

Beverly thank you ! Your shadows were perfect .. I really liked the railing one because the lighting is so soft .. warm fuzzy feeling with it : )

Eileen girl you don't have this ivy ? I thought you might have it!
That last tour with so many beautiful grasses incorporated with the other perennials was gorgeous .. I am such a fan of grasses and my molinia cultivar is hardy and beautiful and brings wonderful contrast to its tiny space I plunked it in .. not enough of them used in gardens!

Ms S just mentioning Sherlock Holmes pub makes me want to go there to see the ivy and have a fun drink : ) I have had a long love affair with this ivy .. it can be a "bad boy" along with my Stag Horn Sumac but as long as I can keep it in check I will not part with them : ) Autumn is my time of the year !

Hello Joe (reminds me of AI and the android greeting .. LOL)Thank you !
I dropped off an e-mail explaining the what ivy it is and how strong it can be .. yes, seems like a lot of us have been hit by some kind of "bug" Hope it improves soon !
