Shadow Shot Time

I had to look backwards for a shadow shot ... this is almost completely in the shadows but a wee bit of light warms it up and highlights some shadow life ! Of course the sun came out later today but I will save those shots for next week !
Drop by Shadow Shot II where (Chubskulit) Rose has a Muskie shadow shown at Cabela's store .. a place my husband would love to visit, since he is a fisherman too Rose : )

Cute garden shoes. Did you get them in Holland? Nice calm shadow shot.

Do you wear these shoes? LOL

I've got a link to it on my blog Joy, you can get it from there. I'm certainly glad to see the sun today after a couple of dull and dreary.

Joy, I have a Nikon D200, which is a few years old now, and the lens I use the most is a

Nikon 55-200mm with a built in motor to reduce vibration, so that you don't have to use a tripod for everything.

I am happy with what I have, but someday I might get a macro lens.

Hi there Lisa girl !
Yes I bought them at a fantastic garden/nursery store in Holland and love them too much to put them out side .. they are meant to plant in .. but I can't take the chance they will break or chip .. I always was sorry I didn't buy the wooden marriage shoes .. they are totally awesome with the lattice work of carving on them !

Darla girl I never even tried to put them on ! LOL .. I can't bear the thought of them cracking or chipping ! eeekkk !

Thanks Linda girl .. I picked up the link (Rose must have corrected it ?) but I can't comment on your blog for some reason ? this drives me mad at times !

Sandy girl thank you for that information ! I had no idea those lenses could have a built in motor and what a good idea because I would rather not set up a trip pod all the time .. yup a macro lens would set you totally up girl !!

Beautiful shoes. For planting? what a delightful idea, although I quite like them on your shelf just as they are.

How warm the glow here! The shoes may be fine for posture, but I'm not sure about comfort...a warming shadow here! Which is really nice after viewing your neighbour doves sitting among the icicles - that looks cold!

Wonderful golden clogs - too good for gardenting but perfect for shadow shots.

Nice, sublime ShadowShot. I really like your pointy toed clogs. Are they made from clay?? Happy SSS!

Marguerite girl : ) YES ! the shoes will stay on the shelf .. I want to keep them in pristine shape because I love them : )

Dear Ralph .. I don't know how the birds make it through such dire conditions now .. we were all fooled by mom nature !
I didn't find wooden shoes very comfortable at all .. we have a few pair .. how could one live in the Netherlands and not collect a few ? LOL

Yes Dianne, I totally agree with you .. they will sit on the shelf for their life time !LOL

Thank you very much Joan : )

Sylvia girl thank you very much ! : )

Gemma that was what I was thinking .. "mellow" very soothing indeed!

LV , how true is that ? just about any object can be rather mysterious or different in the shadows !

Thanks "nan" girl : ) I thought so too !

Rose I can't seem to get into your blog the right way, darn it .. but thank you ! : )

Thanks Cassie girl .. Yes ! they are terracotta and would be great planters but I can't part with them to do that .. separation anxiety ? LOL

I cannot tell if these are wooden shoes or gardening shoes. Whichever they are the shadow is definitely there. Such a sweet little spot for your goodies to be on display. A nice contribution this week. genie

Hello Genie ! I wonder how many barns in total you got to see on your trip ? .. clogs are of terracotta so no using them to preserve their beauty ! LOL

MMT .. that market square was so beautiful and peaceful ... empty of people and noise : )

How cute - considering where they are in this photo are they a sweet decoration?
Hugs, antonella :-)

I love the garden shoes. Are they comfy or functional? LOL I have a pair of slip on sandals that I wear outside when doing yard chores, they are not comfy to do alot of walking in, but serve me well as outside chore shoes. Even in winter I slip them on with my socks and do my chores, usually feeding the birds. I have seen some garden shoes made similarly to the ones you have pictures, but they are made of a rubbery material, I guess to be waterproof. Yours are nice and cast lovely soft shadows.

Hello Antonella !
That chance to stop and take the picture of the tree was spot on, very interesting ! .. I love trees and any chance to take an unusual picture is perfect : )
Yes .. the shoes are decoration from Holland .. I could never use them ! LOL Thanks for stopping by!

Hey there girl : ) No I could not where wooden shoes in the garden myself .. although we have what they craft as barn shoes .. you have to have tough feet for Dutch shoes ? LOL

Thanks for dropping by Lighthousegal : ) no these are terracotta decorative shoes .. actually you can use them for flower planters but I can't .. I don't want them to get dirty or crack or break !! A little piece of Holland for me on the family room ledge : ) I have proper garden shoes that are rubberized ? to wear come Spring ?? LOL

What a lovely, warm, shadow shot for this very cold time of year. It's perfect!

Hello Christine girl !
I was amazed at your story with the seed/fluff head from the flower .. that the hummer was using it to help soften it's nest .. it is the perfect element for sure ! the picture was great too , so glowing and soft .. perfect !
