Shadow Shot Time

I have to say things have been a bit busy here lately ..
That amazing heat wave had husband and I both exhausted from cleaning the garden up .. note to self "self .. clean up more in the Fall when shutting down the garden !!!"
So now we are here for SSS time .. and I am scrambling for a good shadow shot !

My little "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree" has had it's picture taken many times .. taking in the reality that this is an Austrian Pine that should be so big it would fall through the deck and take it over at the same time .. so after 8 years I can safely say I have bonsai this little miracle successfully ?
It throws a great shadow too !

This one came out of the blue when I recognized that Picasa actually had more options to play with our pictures .. this option is called "vignette" .. it has a darkened outer layer to direct your eye to the center image which is one of our lovely Mourning Doves .. ironically in the shadow of a tree limb itself.
So I think it can apply to Shadow Shot time too ?
Click on the Shadow Shot icon to see loads of amazing shadow shots from all over the world !

It's a pretty little tree, and the fuzzy shadows it throws.

Your little tree and its shadow are very cute. I bet it's cute at Christmastime, too. :)

Hearing the doves cooing lately has almost driven me crazy - they are so loud!!

The shadowy world intrudes nicely, falling about all around the dove. The feathers and shadows are both very soft. With the cleanup, the garden is being prepared for your growing passion - soon we all hope!

Such lovely lighting in both photos! Your little tree is gorgeous, but especially love the bird seeming to be totally oblivious to all but his own thoughts!

I do like your Charlie Brown tree and it's little shadow! I did not know that one could bonsai a tree into being small forever. For some reason I thought they were mini trees by nature. See, I learned something new today! Happy SSS.

I like both of these great shadow shots Joy. I am directed to the center with the editing. It takes nothing away from the photo. Strong shadows of the pine on the deck. Very nice all around.

Peace

Whatever size the tree should be, it is charming!

Joy--your pics don't need filters etc, but I too do love playing with them. This is an excellent example of HOW to use them!

Great job!
