Pink Peony for Gracie !

I'm not sure what is going on with my garden plants this year .. plants are doing strange things, looking unusual.  The whole gambit of the "Twilight Zone" Kingston can be known for ..
The rain we were supposed to get ? the thunderstorm WARNINGS for yesterday ?
It all skirted around as as it normally does ..
It is like a glass dome is over our area and weather bounces off of us .. go figure ?
On with my Peony that is supposed to be RED .. it is called "Flame" in fact .. and ? it has always been RED for quite a few years .. this year however it has decided to be PINK !
Gracie and I are a bit of a fan ? of pink so I said I would post my strange, not supposed to be PINK peony.

... and there we are ! PINK smiles for the day : )

It is a gorgeous bloom no matter what shade of red it chooses to be. Maybe the stress of not enough water has it all pinked up. I have a peony tree that is supposed to be purple and it has always been a dark pink.

Doesn't our color fade a bit as we age, lol... What a beautiful shade of pink. Your order is posted on my blog and will be mailed today...thanks again.

Pretty in Pink.(-: But weird it was red. Wonder what that means.(-: I could understand that if it was a hydrangea.
Here is something I found on the color changing thing.

Well, my daughters would cheer for the pink. It looks very lovely. How strange to change the color so dramatically, but Mother Nature loves her tricks, doesn't she!

Wow, that's unusual! I do like the pink though, have had coneflowers change colors from white to pink.

Your Peony is still very pretty despite the fact that the flowers should be red. Gardens in Kingston are going through the twilight zone it seems. Some of my plants are acting strangely, too. I have been waiting for that darn rain they keep calling for, for days. Where is it??? Every time I feel a sense of relief because of rain coming, which means I won't have to drag that larger-than-life hose around, I end up having to drag that larger-than-life garden house around. We had a dry winter. Are we going to have a dry summer, too? Please rain...booooohoooo....

Your peony is beautiful - that color just glows!

We've had similar weather issues. The rain they kept forecasting just seemed to blow by with not a drop falling. I've heard something about peonies changing colour if you plant two different colours too close together. I kind of didn't believe it but maybe there's a spot of truth in that?

A beauty, for sure. Someone else was saying that the colors had changed in their flowers also, that is rather odd isn't it?

But any color, that's still a beauty.

I like your 'pink' peony. Funny how that happened to it - a mystery.

Hello Lisa girl : )
I have always wondered about tree peonies .. I may try that one year after I check the sofa for fall money?LOL

Darla girl : ) Thank you ! .. Husband "borrowed" back his money because he may need it crossing the border to pick up DDL .. so I will work on this again ? wink wink

Cindee girl ! how are you !
I watch that 80's movie quite a few times haha. I have to get to that link to have a look yet .. I know my Royal Wedding poppy is now slightly pink from keeping company with red poppies ? LOL

Hello there VW girl !
Yes it is very much a girlie pink colour ! I don't mind really but it just struck me rather strange ;-)

Eileen girl hello there : )
Yes .. I have had cone flowers do strange things too .. seems to be in their natures ?

Martha girl you and I are of the same mind .. there has been a sprinkling of rain this morning but I don't see worth while amounts happening .. I don't trust weather people at all now ! haha

Hello there Rebecca and thank you .. what ever colour she decided to be she is a beauty to me : )

Hello Marguerite girl : )
I have only one peony (I am of a mind to get another some year because they are so pretty) .. but I have seen the influence of red poppies on my white one which is now a pale pink .. they had to be fooling around when I wasn't looking ? LOL

Jen girl the garden & plants are acting a little unusual .. the Mayan calendar is creeping into my thoughts ? eeekkkk !! LOL

Patty girl it is strange but I will take pink if that is all she can give me .. maybe next year she will be red again ? LOL

Joy I love this peony girl! That Grace will be driving up to get that one. LOL! Have a lovely weekend.

Lona girl it has behaved very strangly and didn't last as long as it usually does .. we have had freaky weather all Spring so that might be the problem. I was going to ask you about a little problem I have with two of my roses .. I will have to send an e-mail about it.
I think you are the "Rose Queen" girl!

We've got one of those weather domes over us too in the summer time. Rain just doesn't come here, it skirts around us every time. I don't know what happened to your peony, but I like it! Pink is always a good color, don't you agree?

Linda girl wouldn't you know all of the flowers have fallen before you arrived .. driving rain and winds .. big sight !

Robing you are so right about pink being perfect in our gardens : ) but we finally are in the rain zone, so the garden is getting a great soaking .. phew !

OMGosh, Joy Dear, that is one PINK beauty! I LOVE it! I do find it odd that it used to be red but I like the pink way better than red. Thank you for thinking of me. You rock!
