Pass Around The "Gallo Peach" Please !

I wish I could photograph the exact light I was looking at through the fennel leaves to this sweet gaillardia .. Gallo Peach .. I am not a fan of "Blanket Flowers" because they usually flop over and play dead a lot .. or play "you know you can't grow me .. so give it up !!"
This little one changed my mind .. I love the mix of orange and yellows .. it is short in stature so no flopping.
It takes a punishing placement in the sun strip and keeps smiling.
So a BIG yes ! to this plant for something sunny looking in a sunny area you may have problems with.
On the right is a tri-coloured sage .. to the left a short deep red echinacea and in back is the fennel that came out of no where !
I love the different colours and textures .. they compliment each other perfectly in my mind : )

Hi Joy, I have one and only one traditional galardia this year. I can't even really call it "mine" though. It is a volunteer that jumped across the road from my neighbours.
I have seen some of the newer varieties, and think the orangey-colored ones, like yours, are prettier than the good old standby.

Joy, gailardia is a very colorful flower and looks nice with the most of other plants. Nice picture!

I love that little blanket flower also...anything that can take the heat, and keep on growing is going to be a fav of mine.

That beautiful orange reminds me that Halloween is nearing. We had a break in weather yesterday and suddenly it feels like fall. But still no rain *big sigh*. I wonder if type of soil affects the flopping you notice, I haven't had issues with blanket flowers falling over so it makes me wonder.

Hello Jennifer girl : )
I had no luck with the older cultivars .. but the newer , shorter ones like this seem to be liking the garden so I am a happy gaillardia gal now! LOL

Hello Nadezda girl !
It is a little hit of sunshine on the ground isn't it ? So far , so good!

Hello there Jen girl : )
It has been amazing with being in a dry hot spot .. seems to like being punished ? LOL

Carrie girl hello there : )
They do bring a smile to your face don't they ? That shining yellow and orange : )

Marguerite girl hello there !
YES ! Orange is coming or is that Halloween is coming ? LOL
We are so dry I can't even believe it . the worst summer I have ever seen .. I think you may be on to something about the soil and these plants .. if the soil is too rich they do tend to flop .. this one is in a lot of sandy type soil .. good drainage if we ever needed it ? LOL

Lona girl how are you ?!
There are only a few out of this group that I seem to have success with .. but love this little one !
