This shot is more of a delicate perhaps intricate shadow shot .. you have to look closely to see the glass of water to the right hand side , in which the rose is actually standing in.
This shot is more pronounced and obvious with it's shadow .. the "bands" of water in the glass and the detail of the rose outline , I found really pretty as a shadow shot.
I just had to reach back for some flowery examples because I am totally sick of the snow and Spring seems not to care whether it arrives here or not ? eeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk !!

These are exquisite!!! Such delightful flowers and wonderful shadows! I love them! I'm like you, wanting to see spring arrive -- our weather hasn't been that cold this winter, just gray, grim, wet!! That's bad enough! Hope you have a lovely weekend regardless of the weather!!
yes, spring is going to take it's time this year...anticipation. love the glass on the wall... hope all is well in your space.

The glassy shadows are so subtle that we forget that the beautiful flowers are so because of the water filled tumblers allow the blooms to be so prolific while not in the ground. Spring planting is not that far away...the snow is melting a lot now. Blooms like this will be back!
Nice photos ! Spring is on it's way all though here it is bitterly cold . Papa and I are off to do a photo shoot at a Amish farm to photograph his work horses in action so we have to bundle up for this ! Have a good day !
Oh Joy.....spring cares, but you have to have spring in your heart.
Only if you believe....

The shadow is wonderful. No roses here yet either. Snow is falling.
Hello Lady?
Hope your enjoying your sunny day. It seems you had a wonderful weather now? Unlike in Sweden? I almost get crazy as the weather :-)
Enjoy the rest of the week-end.

Pretty shots! Love the shadow a glass of water makes. I know winter must be long to break in Canada. It's pretty cold here, and we've even had snow flurries today! That's BIG for us:) But it is bitterly cold. Spring is still a ways off, even in the deep south!
Love both photos! In the first one, lovely soft shadows are tucked away in the petals of the rose! And the second one looks as if the rose is checking its "reflection in the mirror"!
They are both great shots. I love all flowers and the red one is really is showing off its shadow.
The deep red rose, accentuated by its stark, dark shadow...lovely!
Ruffling the Shadows
I know what you mean!
Lovely flower and great shadows!
Both are beautiful!

Your comment is greatly appreciated!
Spring is almost here hold on a bit longer(-: The groundhog said so!!!(-:
We are expecting a big winter storm here tomorrow. I am happy because we really need rain bad. I turned on the sprinklers yesterday because things were sooooo dry. Sad. I didn't want to but had no choice if I want some flowers blooming in the near future(-:
I hope you are having a good week!
Thank you all so much for stopping by with your comments .. I haven't been feeling that great lately so I am sorry to have not gotten to everyone's blog to comment .. hopefully I will drag myself out of this health hole I have fallen into and visit soon!
Hi Joy Dear, I LOVE your shadow shots because they're about FLOWERS and not that godforsaken snow. Enough of that crap already! Let's bring on spring, stat!
I owe you an email. I haven't forgotten. I've been swamped. Take care sweetie.
Took me a minute to see that small glass shadow in the first picture but there it is and what a great little detail. Is it still cold there Joy? I would have thought things were getting nicer. We seem to have warmed up in a hurry here. Temperatures above zero all week and the snow furiously melting in rivers. Our laneway is a mudpit, sure sign of spring if I know any.
Joy, lovely red rose and its clearest shadow!
