Lovely photos ! Oh I hear you , the weeds here seem to grow faster then anything and that's fast considering all has bloomed and is blooming again lol ! Especially after a good rain ! Thanks for sharing . See you when you find your way out of the weeds lol ! Thanks for sharing ! Have a good day !

Drool! Your plants always look so perfect to me, with never a bug bite or brown spot. I see many shade plants with sun plants nearby, so I can't quite figure out how your sun and shade patterns are working there. That metal plant stand is usually just empty, but the rain filled it up. It gets too rusty for birds to use. Without a drain hole, I don't want plants in it either. Any other ideas?

Hi Elaine girl and thank you !
Yes .. the weeds are very sneaky creatures and try to hide in the garden ! haha .. wishing for a good down pour now though !

Hello Robin girl : )
I have loads of imperfect plants too girl! haha
My husband drilled holes in it .. and I just put a pot of plants on it .. ideally it should be a low profile pot with falling plants .. but I haven't gotten there with that yet.

You have such a talent for mixing foliage Joy. I can't think of another blogger who does as well. The astilbe in the last post are terrific too. I only do so-so with astilbe. I put it down to the lack of rain mid-summer. I do water, but not enough for astilbe to flourish.

Joy, one thing I always notice when I see photos of your garden is how much colour there is. loads of it! and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I worried so much planning my flower garden about getting the colours just right and then I see yours and wonder what I was thinking. I love seeing the rainbow of flowers and foliage you have.

Oh you've done a little redecorating here. Love it! And your header is beautiful, Joy.

Hello Jennifer girl !
Thank you so much : ) .. I plant what I like .. I follow no colour chart rules ;-) haha .. funny enough I don't really baby my astilbe, they just seem to hang in most times, maybe I am just lucky ?

Marguerite girl .. I am a rebel .. the only rules I pay attention to is the quantity of light and some times I push that around a bit too.
Your garden is for YOU! so plant what YOU like girl!

Thank you so much Carolyn .. I experiment here and there .. lately it is too hot to be in the garden .. I hate this heat and humidity, so I play on the computer a bit more ? haha

That lush foliage, and flower filled garden is so beautiful. Makes every moment that you spend watering worth it.

Stopping in to say hi(-: Hope all is well. It is hottttt here. The plants are having a hard time keeping up. I think I have wilted too.(-: I got a new hibiscus. I need to take a picture. It is a hardy type so will see how hardy it is when its 110 degrees right? LOL(-:

Great photos, really good. The combinations in some of them are very good indeed. I can use some of the same plants here on the shores of Lake MIchigan in the garden rooms I tend. Glad I was able to visit today. JC

Hi Jen girl .. by the time I have finished the watering mission , I have MIXED thoughts about that ! haha
BUT .. when I see how refreshed the gardens are the next morning .. yes .. it is worth it .. but this is the time period when I get really tired so it is difficult.

Oh my goodness Cindee girl ! I don't know how you survive those temps .. I would be totally wilted .. my fingers are crossed for your hibiscus .. I know you will make it thrive girl! : )

Hello JC and thanks for dropping by .. I really loved seeing those gorgeous crystal clean snow photos!
I appreciate that post so much with the heat of this time of year .. we live our lives so attached to the seasons though eh ? six months x six months ! LOL

The pink Monarda is absolutely lovely. What am I talking about? EVERYTHING is lovely! You are such an incredible gardener Joy Dear, especially with all of your challenges. I am amazed. :)

Gracie thank you .. and I do love monarda .. the scent is wonderful. But I had to cut all these back because of a bad case of powdery mildew (I hate that stuff) .. even so they are growing back again so I may have a wee second crop !

We love butterfly plants too! We have monarch's of all shapes, sizes and colors flocking to our Monarda's. One of their favorite plants in our garden.
