Time for more WORK ! ..OOPS !

Well here it is the day after a huge rainfall yesterday morning .. sunny but a bit windy which I would wish it was NOT .. but you have to work with what you've got right ?

OK .. funny picture from yesterday (after the rains) .. Mr. Chips our summer out door "pet" came to visit Sophie , well .. ok .. came to gather more sunflower seeds but the visit was of course his way of being polite to her ?
He even stood up on his hind legs at the door to press his nose there .. giving her kisses ? haha

Next our crazy cardinal with gathering more goods for the nest.
I had to take this picture inside the house through the deck door , through the posts of the railing.
I can't believe I got it .. neither can he ? haha
I'm throwing in a Goldfinch picture just because they are so pretty !
More "wildlife" ? ... "Spider on Henryri" is this composition .. sounding rather artsy fartsy
I would like to find as many spiders as possible and put them on my roses where those unmentionable aphids are driving the said roses and I CRAZY !
Thankfully I bumped into another gardener at a garden center, who is having the same problem.
Some years are worse than others as we all know ... ugh !

The best stand up, long lasting peony I have is Green Lotus.
I think the wrinkled structure of the flower actually strengthens, and extends it's life span.
I may have to rethink the plain white one I have ... hum ?
Ant is prop in picture just for the fun of it since "little" garden life is included in post.

Well ... I have to go to work .. fingers crossed I actually get some done !

PS ... Well today turned out to be way too windy and a few rain showers .. so tomorrow ??
ALL fingers and toes crossed

HAHAHA! Those chipmunks. Don't you just love them? We have a few scattering through the garden and sometimes one of them will come to the kitchen window and press its little nose up against the glass...while one of our cats is there. Drives the kitty nuts! LOL... Cardinals and finches are the sweetest. Such quiet, beautiful birds. Aphids, bleh...such awful beasts!

Hi Martha girl ... Yup ... those aphids are scum of the earth ! haha
We have two chipmunks dueling for the position of HEAD chipmunk of the back gardens .. so we will see who wins ? haha

Hi Martha - cute little chippy at your place, too. I think I have another family living under a wood-pile at the back of our property. Hope to see some little ones soon. Sophie is beautiful. And, so is that lovely goldfinch photo. Wow! Thanks for stopping by today. Deb

Isn't it cute to see the chipmunks and pets interact! We have similar entertainment with our cats watching the chipmunks and squirrels going across our deck. You caught a good shot of that Cardinal considering it was through a window and between the rungs of the railing! They are so quick to fly away unlike the chickadees that seem to be so friendly.
We get Rose Chafers that eat the leaves and flowers but they don't seem to show up until it's real warm.
We had a good rain the other day and then the wind afterwards but it also got humid so the wind seemed to help take it away.
Have a great week!

Love seeing y our wildlife. I love those little chipmunks. Has one ever done damage around your garden or house? I have heard they can be destructive. We had one in our garden one time and the grey squirrels chased it away.

Oh darn that wind. I had a day like that last week. It was just too blustery to be comfortable. I love those little critters. Unfortunately (or maybe not) they're far and few between in my hood. However we've got tree frogs and I love those, as you do too, I know. I wish I could throw you a few. :) Love your garden, my friend.

No problem Deb .. sometimes it can get a bit confusing when we blog hop .. I have done it myself, haha .. seeing mini me chipmunks would be wonderful ! Hope you do and take pictures too!

Cindee girl Rocket is a perfect name for your raccoon (hope he isn't as devious though ? haha .. I loved that movie ;-) ... I have been waiting for butterflies .. I have loads of plants they like and fingers crossed we hope to see some cocoons this year!

Thank you very much OE yes our Sophie is a special girl and so is her "friend" Mr. Chips .. can't stop taking pictures of him ? LOL

Thanks Liz girl .. it was a wonder the picture came out with all the obstacles I had to shoot through, go Nikon! LOL
This year's weather is totally whacky .. no counting on it to be fair? at all some days!LOL

Hello Lisa girl : ) No so far no damage other than I can't bother planting crocuses .. that is his favourite FOOD ! haha .. I have read some where squirrels will actually kill chipmunks but we have never had it go that badly .. hope it never will !!! They just keep out of each other's way here .. phew!

Gracie girl thank you ! I so wish I could have some of those frogs too .. we had a neighbor bring some from his daughter's pond but I think they all left .. I would have to have a pond here to entice them to stay .. BIG sigh !

The chipmunk at the door is too funny. I bet Sophie would have loved to get out there on that deck! So much work to do here, too, but instead of wind and rain, we have had hot days that are more like July or August. If I don't get out in the garden early, I might as well give it up, because I melt in the sun:0

Hello Rose girl : )
Yes Sophie is always on the look out for Mr. Chips now .. great entertainment for her? LOL
I am in the same boat as you are now .. it is scorching here .. if I don't get out early morning I am literally TOAST too ! ugh ... and this is all we wait for during the dead of freezing winter ? LOL

That first picture reminds me of when we used to live on a third floor apartment that looked out onto the branches of a maple tree. You could frequently see squirrels in the tree, which drove our cat absolutely bonkers.
