Wordless Wednesday

Yes .. it is supposed to be wordless .. but .. my words are of caution.

Always try to remember what you have planted and where ... or else ? You dig up that lovely patch by mistake and are left hugely disappointed when you realize said mistake ..These lilies are in lily heaven and not in my garden any more ... BIG sigh !

Please have a peek at the Wordless Wednesday group at Ramblin'with AM they are quite the gathering !

I've done this very thing. I'm so sorry. You need to replant them next year.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥

too bad about accidentally digging them up! I had to dig mine all up on purpose because I could not stay ahead of lilybeetles. I sure miss the lily fragrance and range of colours.

Oh, my spouse and I have done that (dug stuff up). This year's victim was a hairy aster (I think) plant we had gotten as a free gift for purchasing plants at a native plant nursery near Ithaca, New York. So we had to go out and buy a new one. Yes, a word to the wise! (Incidentally, I do not own this Wordless Wednesday blog hop; it belongs to Sandee at Comedy Plus. She has a linky on her site which, if you add it to the html coding of your site, will make the linky appear on your site, too.)But thank you for the shout out!

Hello Sandee .. I just can't seem to get this blog hop right ! LOL .. I will keep trying though.Thank you Sandee for feeling for me with this .. the angst of a garden is well shared.
Yup .. I really missed seeing those lilies this year in that particular spot .. so I will be trying yet again and trying to beat back that lily beetle next year too.

Heidi I am on the verge of doing this too .. but I am going to give this one more year to see if I can get some of this under control .. I do love my lilies .. I will fight as long as I can .. I'm sorry you miss yours .. but you can't drive yourself crazy though either and I get that !

Hello Alana .. I haven't had a hairy aster yet, it sounds intriguing ! I'm sorry you had to go through that .. some times I keep doing the same dumb trick over and over again .. it seems like I never quite learn my lesson ? You are more than welcome to the shout out .. I am going to try and get this right yet ! LOL Thanks !

I love lilies and their scent. I also have dug up the wrong flowers before. Not as bad as my husband though. I was recovering from an operation and as unable to do any gardening. I had some packets of seeds so just sprinkled them on my borders to see what would come up. A few weeks later my husband came in so pleased and told me he had hoed all of the weeds out of the borders. I didn't have the heart to tell him so just thanked him and smiled nicely through gritted teeth.

Oh no! We're sorry you accidentally dug up those lilies. They sure were beautiful. I guess we're lucky in that we only have a container plant garden. It makes it easier to remember what we've planted. :)

I have some lilies that just didn't bloom this year. I wonder why?? These are so pretty. You will have to replant.

Thank you all for your comments ! I appreciate every one of them !
"Memories" .. OMG ! I had such a giggle over your story .. I am always a little worried that might happen to me some day but Garden PA should know better ? LOL
Meowmeowmans ... you are right .. there are less incidents with container plantings .. they have safety rails ! LOL
Lisa ... I had that happen too .. at first I thought it was too much shade .. but then I knew they had bloomed last year .. so it was all a little too confusing .. and yes I will replant and fight the BEETLES !

I have done the same thing and it is always too late to realized the mistake. I love this lily but it won't grow here.

Beautiful picture. We believe that plants go where they want to grow and have a lot of surpurrizes in our garden every year💗Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞

Hello Nancy .. I'm sorry the lilies won't grow there .. it is a tough time here with the lily beetle but I am determined !LOL .. I loved those moon shots you captured .. I know in person it was even better looking at it ;-)

Thank you Binky and Granny ;-) You were so cute laying in the sun and all of that wonderful catnip for the winter ? how good can it get ! ;-)

Oh, no! I do this kind of thing, too.
Good luck with it all. It's nearly time to put it to bed!

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Hi Jenn .. it is just one of those things every gardener goes through .. BIG sigh ! LOL
I have so much work to do to put this garden to bed this year .. it is SCARY ! hahaha

I strongly agree whether to speak carefully or think before speaking ..., once a hurtful word appears it will be firmly planted in a person's mind.

Just a lovely memory now. Sadly I've been in that situation before. I accidentally pulled out wildflowers I planted last year, thinking they were weeds. They were phlox just beginning to leaf out :(

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Himawan .. I think you might have meant your comment for someone else's post .. but you have a very good point .. a simple assessment that has a huge impact.

Yvonne ... I'm sorry that happened to you .. it must have been very disappointing indeed !
We have all been there .. I am going to try and leave markers of some kind for now on.
Spring can be especially dangerous for pulling plants out mistaken for weeds .. I have been there also !
