Webs and Wanderings

The two pictures after this too cute postcard are tied into the theme of webs .. yes, we all have had our moments with them haven't we ?
All those spiders want to do is have some peace and quiet without us screaming, flapping our arms about and running around like idiots .. they must have some kind of LAUGH at us ?
What you have to do now is look at the "dot" by Mr. Mystery's back (I didn't use my better long range camera on this .. charging batteries is a pain !!) .. but if you follow me and see the small dot .. then look at the next picture from this one.
Now how funny is this ? The spider has a web from the old lilac tree towards the next shrub and so it seems like it is dangling in mid air by Mr. Mystery , who apparently doesn't care about it one bit ?
The day I was taking these pictures it was cloudy and VERY gray .. so they aren't as pretty as they should be .. but "hay" look at that PUMPKIN !!
Cart load full of bloomed out mums ... now how is that fun , when they are all done ??
The pumpkins were gorgeous and this last of summer's flower display gave it one more burst !
Is this a pumpkin pie reminder ?
We took a drive into the country but as you can see .. the colour show hasn't really happened yet. The water is beautiful though.
Just a little bit here and there ..
A little bit more ......
How could I not have cat tails involved ?
When we got home I had the most astounding fantastic surprises !
Andrea (The Greenhouse Worker) did something absolutely wonderful for me .. I had no idea what she was up to when she sent a cryptic message of very few words ....

.... and there it was a box of heavenly booty .. what gardener would not love having such a wonderful surprise like this ?

Andrea girl you are a saint in my books .. it couldn't have come at a better time ..

I appreciate you doing such a wonderfully generous (sanity and moral saver) act to keep me going : ) You are the best !!

That picture of your cat and the spider is too funny! How appropriate for Halloween. The pumpkins did remind me of pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread.... I think I'm going to make some tomorrow as a matter of fact. :) -Jackie

Andrea girl that was one of the best surprises of my life : ) I really mean that .. even number one son did something surprising .. he came home that afternoon with two HUGE garden/plant books from Chapters .. now that was some day !! : )
Isn't that spider a hoot with Mr. Mystery ? LOL

Urban Green ... yes I am very lucky : ) .. I will try to get better Fall colour pictures in a few more days when the temps drop to COLD so the leaves will change before the rains and wind whip them off the trees .. this is not going to be a beautiful Autumn month I am afraid .. darn !

Jackie girl : ).. I laughed when I downloaded the pictures and saw what happened .. how perfect it was to post too ! .. YES ! I made those silly Pillsbury pumpkin cookies last night (and ate too many of them of course haha)

What great photos, Joy! I loved the tour and the trip out into the country! But of course, I especially love the closeup of Mr. Mystery and the spider. You really should print it out and make Hallowe'en cards from it. It's perfect!

Hi Joy--I loved the drive in the country. We don't have many fall colors here, so it is always a treat to visit fall with another gardener! And what a wonderful treat awaiting you!

What great photos Joy! I knew I could come here for a hearty dose of autumn and Halloween fun.

What a lovely, generous surprise from Andrea! Bet you still have a smile on your face just thinking about it.

Your big day is getting closer all the time :)

I love how things come into view when a photo is opened up on the computer. Best to be surprised by a spider this way too.

Thank goodness pumpkins are replacing zucchini. One more piece of zucchini bread and I'd go squash crazy.
