The mystery of "Golden Sunrise"

Well what can I say about how SURPRISED I am to be the benefactor of a totally different hellebore that I would not have shopped for .. it was not on my wish list what so ever !
I want to thank Barry from "Teza's Hortus Magnificum , who is a sweetheart, for letting me know what this unusual hellebore is.
Yesterday was just too sunny to believe .. we haven't had many of those days .. so picture taking was a bit too bright .. however with rain almost every other day I just had to capture more shots of this little darling?
It is a very delicate looking little character .. but I know it will grow up to be big and strong in a few years .. showing off those freckles every chance it gets?
Part of the unusual attraction is the colouring on the back of the petals .. which is nice since it is a down facing flower ... you get to enjoy the pretty scene backwards ?
These pictures don't do it justice .. but my story had to be told and a "thank you" to Barry as well!

I also like the header hellebore. It and the freckled hellebore make great companions.

What a pretty hellebore, Joy! However it came to be in your garden, I'm sure you're enjoying this freckle-faced cutie.

How nice of Barry to identify it for you. I bought a collection from a mail-order company that had 'Yellow Lady,' 'Pink Lady,' and three others--and I still can't tell which is which:)

Hello there Lisa girl : ) and thank you ! .. I want to take lots of pictures of my hellebore and hopefully they will cooperate as well as the weather which is just plain nasty now .. Spring is very stubborn about smiling on us ! haha

Rose girl, thank you! This has been such a surprise (all of my garden markers were washed away over the winter so ID'ing these beauties is a problem I will have also .. so you are not alone ! LOL .. just another garden trick we have to master ? ;-)

Hello Darla : ) that she is and will be more and more as she ages .. just like us ? hehehe

Thank you Cat : ) the sun was really too bright for bringing out her beautiful colours .. but I had to grab what I could when I could with rain every other day ;-(

Skeeter girl I am glad too, other wise i would have driven myself mad trying to figure out which one she is .. something totally unexpected .. but that does happen to us right? hopefully not too often ! haha

Carrie girl I am too happy to have you enjoy my hellebore world here:)
I will have to dedicate one especially for YOU and call it Irish Carrie : ) LOL .. I hope your Spring is better than ours, the weather truly sucks here in the GWN! ;-)

Eileen I have no idea how this one got here .. it might be a case of mislabeling from what I thin was supposed to be London Fog (dark single petal beauty) but I won't know for a while yet and of course all of my markers have washed off .. so it will be over time in brain function to figure out what has happened ! eekkk !

Barry you are a sweetie : ) I would have gone stark raving mad trying to figure out what this was .. now I need to know if it knocked out London Fog or another one for the switch-a-roo ?! haha

Hello Grace girl : ) It was only a passing moment with the sunshine .. this morning it was a very hard frost so the weather is still STUCK in winter gear ? haha .. Yup this hellebore was a surprise for sure !

Hi there Mickie : ) you really should try a few of these plants .. even after the blooms are finished their foliage is very pretty ! Have a wonderful Easter weekend too : )

That is a unique Hellebore, I sort of like it. We are still having lots of rain and some snow here in Michigan with very little sunshine; Joy... it's has been very depressing! I hope that May will bring brighter days! It has been an odd gloomy spring around here.

Happy Easter!

Vetsy hello there ! I'm not sure how I feel about this hellebore .. I wasn't really interested in "freckled" ones but having this surprise happen , here I am with it in any case ? haha
Yes .. it has been a very long gloomy winter and we are feeling that way too long .. we need some sunshine !!
