Shadow Shot Time

Winthrop has been singing "Me and my shadow ..." non-stop", for a few days now .. I think his point is to make sure I show case him for a Sunday Shadow Shot ?
The sun is changing it's "rise" position quickly now and I know this sounds strange but it seems to be rising faster .. I have to watch carefully standing there with my camera ready to literally "catch" it in the act ? haha

Tracy the "master of this meme" over at Hey Harriet, has us all tucked in comfy and cozy with her blog, showing us all off .. now that has to make you smile and consider joining, right ?

So have a peek at us Shadow Shooters and what we find in the shadows !

I take it that Winthrop is the gargoyle that guards the outdoor light? He does a good job, as do you with these great shadow shots.
I believe the sun does rise faster as it gets farther to the North, at least for us in this hemisphere. I like to watch it rise closer and closer to the north. Changes all the shadow angles. Good stuff!

Peace

spring is taking its time arriving this year, but you're right about the rise of the sun getting higher faster. I see it too. lovely shadow shot there. thank you Winthrop. happy SSS!

Closer to Long Island Sound, the sun is rising a bit more that I am used to. However, I do not complain! I would guess that being near the St. Lawrence, the colder days were even longer. So we get shadows from the sun above, and not the longer southern sun. A nice capture.

Your garden awaits!

Had a hard time finding the words
"post a comment".
Anyway, I'll give you credit for finding shadow shots every week.
Nice job.

Hello Joe : ) how are you .. and yes (wink wink) Winthrop has a very special duty with that light indeed ! It is amazing to see it (the sun) pop up so quickly when it seemed to be long slowly upward movement before .. I have to be quick to catch it now ;-) and yes, changes in shadows will shift to afternoon beauties : )

Ms. Becky hello there : ) Thank you ! Winthrop thanks you too for your praise, his ego always needs some stroking! LOL
The sun seems to be in a hurry now;-)

Ralph hello there : )
Thank you for "your garden awaits" I have missed it so much and I am having a bad time controlling the pain to be able to work in it.
But I am determined !
Yes ..we do analyse the sun more than most people don't we ? our photography .. and other interests that depend on it makes us focus on it ? LOL

Patsi girl thank you for trying so hard and sticking with me ? LOL
Hey I am so loving NJ too and I wish they would make it an hour show .. I always feel like BANG it ends and I want to see MUCH more!!

Hello chubskulit and thank you : )
Hope you are having a blast with the kids and family !

Donna girl thank you : ) Winthrop is just beginning to feel like himself , as are the rest of the boys .. it really makes them feel so much better when they come out of the DEEP FREEZE ! haha

Bev thank you girl : ) It always amazes me how this Spring thing works .. and the sun , bang it is up early and lasting much longer and moves much quicker .. we have to be fast to catch a proper sunrise !

Great shadow shot & Winthrop sure is doing his job. The sun does seem to be getting brighter as the days go by.

I think Winthrop must know he casts a pretty intimidating shadow! lol

You are right about the sun, it is just so happy to be back that it is jumping up in the morning. :)

Hello Anni girl : ) .. I loved your sandcastle shots ! They reminded me as a kid how much fun I would have on the beach : ) Thank you !

EG .. I have to try that link again .. it was cranky and didn't work for me but I saw that marsh shot and loved it ! I'm so glad you can see some crocus finally girl .. you need a shot of colour and the foot print of Spring being there finally: )

Grace girl thank you !
I'm sorry I did that too you .. don't ya' just hate that when a tune gets stuck in the upper rafters of your brain ? LOL

Thank you Joan : ) I loved that shot of your pepper .. bang, I'm here and you can't miss me in this shot !hehehe

Lola girl thank you : )
Isn't that the truth ?the sun is changing so fast now i have to be on my toes to catch it in the morning !

Ms S girl Winthrop has quite a presence and ego to match (considering he is on the smallish side for a gargoyle) so he is proud that his shadow ! LOL
The sun is changing QUICKLY now ... I have been getting some interesting shots but I have to be even quicker myself to catch her !
Glad you are getting her smile more often and more intensely girl !

Winthrop is such an expressive fellow. Even his shadow is interesting.

Hey there Lisa girl : )
Yes Winthrop is a "deep" thinking type gargoyle .. you just never know what is on his mind some times ? LOL

Skeeter said...

Winthrop cast a nice shadow along with his pal the lamp! It does seem as though that sun gets into the sky quicker now...

CanadianGardenJoy said...

Skeeter girl the sun is doing it's thing so quickly I have to RUN to catch it as it rises .. too funny to see with two cats hanging on to my legs at the same time ? LOL
