The Buzz on Brunnera

I do get a "buzz" on brunnera .. I simply fell in love with "Jack" and had to get 2 or 3 others of "him" .. then I just had to start a little collection of sibblings to keep him company and shine in the shadier parts of my garden .. which are expanding.
Who can resist those gorgeous blue flowers and beautiful foliage ?
They play "nice" with other plants !

Silver Lining is some what scarce I am finding .. I ordered one last year from Canning Perennials but I see Chris doesn't have it this year.

Silver Wings is also a pretty off shoot ...

King's Ransom is rich with more of a cream in it's colour .. I think I made a joke there ?

King .. "rich" .. ok .. not so funny ... moving on ...

Mr. Morse is the white flowered kid on the block .. just something a little different , other wise you would think he is Jack !

My orginal Jack Frost is doing great .. I think he will be happy for a few more years to come : )

A little note on how you get hooked on some Pulmonaria .. that flash of silver on their leaves reel you in .. white flowers become blue with Moonshine .. well, not exactly directly caused by moonshine .. I mean the plant ?

I think it is that attraction of silver in shade .. it just draws your attention and you can't help but admire it ? So brunnera and pulmonaria seem to be happy campers together !

Brunnera or pulmonaria are possibilities to add to my garden. When I was taking care of my parents' garden (which is much larger and nicer), there were a couple of pulmonaria, but they never exactly thrived. I think it was too sunny for them. Parts of my current garden would probably be well-suited to either plant - as long as I can create a space that is free of the lily-of-the-valley and blackberries!

Hello Patricia and thank you very much !

Yes ! RP .. you should try a few mixtures in the shadier part of your garden .. oops with the lily of the Valley and blackberries (they have thorns don't they ? eeekk!)
I am always rearranging plants .. I think I hear them screaming when they see me coming with my trowel! LOL

I think my little Jack is craving more sun, but I don't have a great place to move him to, so he'll have to struggle along in full shade. Your different cultivars are such a treat!

Lona girl it is a sign of good taste to be a brunnera fan ! wink wink
I have a PS to post that involves Silver Lining .. I think after what you had posted on with pictures going astray you will appreciate it: )

VW .. Yes, I think Jack likes a little morning sun then light shade but hey .. they can adapt if they have to .. I am waiting for Emerald mist to come from a mail order now so another one to add is always fun!
