Shadow Shot Time

Time in the garden is rapidly closing in on me with my LONG list of chores to get done before "she" is put to bed to slumber through the winter.
I try to take a time out here and there to see what pictures I can capture while "she" is still green and with a punctuation of pretty colours .. soft or bold .. shadows can also be soft or bold as well can't they ?
The reflected sunlight on the Korean Wax Bells is very bright .. but the filtered light showing the veining in its leaves is more subtle, then the stems criss cross affect looks blurred.
So many ways of  defining shadows' strengths and weaknesses ?
To see even more shadow variety you should click on the icon for SS and have a look at shadows from across the world !

Joy, nice evening picture, the bells are almost closed and light is going trough the leaves.

It is strange that shadows can look/portray different textures at times. A lovely green shot. :)

A garden is a thing of beauty, from bud to bloom to the time just before the cold season. We love the growth through the year, we tend and care for it lovingly - so we admire the flowering fauna always. A garden looks its best always. It isn't quite snowing yet :)

Lovely photo. I've never heard of Korean Wax Bells. They do look pretty with the light reflecting off of them.

Happy shadow seeking this week!

Hello Nadezda girl : )
Thank you .. late afternoon light is beautiful on Fall days .. perfect for some pictures !

Sylvia girl that new comforter is gorgeous ;-) We are actually going to get some rain today .. it has been a while so it is more than welcome!

Thank you so much Joan .. those pictures from Pioneer days were really fun to see !

Dear Ralph .. I hope to put the garden to bed before the snow falls! .. and that we see some coloured leaves before as well!!

Hello Patti ..Kirengeshoma palmata Koreana is the botanical name for the plant .. I have had it for years now .. the flower is a downward facing one so you don't really see inside, but they are pretty with the big leaf foliage too .. thank you ! : )

Lisa girl hello there : )

Robin girl ... yes it is kind of sad .. but it was one very rough , stressful season with our crazy heat and drought .. so ? I am happy this time to get the garden ready for bed : )

I'm having a hard time completing my list of chores as well. Less light, worsening weather making it tougher to get it all done. Love all the kitty pictures in the header. What better combination than cats and halloween. By the way, what does the vaseline do?

Marguerite girl .. I was over to your place and your gardens look good still! .. I still have lots to do as well .. BIG sigh.
The Vaseline keeps the pumpkins from rotting or getting mushy and it gives them a bit of shine to brighten them up .. kind of a nice affect .. son says they look like they aren't real ? haha
